First time staying at a hostel so we didn't know what to expect. Truth is, it was one of the most comfortable beds that we had on our long cross Europe trip, same with the shower. Obviously not the glitz and glamour but this hostel was very clean and got the job done while exceeding our expectations. Would definitely recommend!... More

Last minute booking for a cheap getaway we chose Boqueria purely on price. Although quite basic the rooms were very clean and well serviced, Situated in La Rambla mean you have great access to the Gothic quarter and within easy walking distance to public transport and the beach. As others have said it can be a bit noisy at night... More

Easy to find, helpful staff, cheap and cheerful. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the wifi is great, the TV works, the shower works, you cannot fault the location! People slate La rambla for being too busy/noisy etc but seriously what do you expect? It's one of the main streets in a major city? It's bound to be... More

This was our 10th place we booked for our spanish trip. Unfortunately this was the most expensive and not the good one. The position might sound perfect (it is) but we couldn't sleep ( you have a feeling that the windows are open, how loud it was) and we had parking problem too. The air conditioning was working but for... More

Las Ramblas is sooooo overrated. I would never stay on that road again. Your better off staying in Raval or near to the beach - somewhere a little off the beaten track. This 'hotel' was a one star. Tiny little towels, dark rooms, one sheet to sleep under, balcony overlooking a large rubbish bin, hideous day core, no self entry... More

To say that the room was spare may exaggerate. It's a hostel. There was a bed, nightstand, desk, tv, and a phone on the wall. The tub/shower was adequate but built for tall people. We had to supplement the towels by raiding the linen closet. Breakfast is minimal if your reservation includes it. Our view was a little alley. There... More

I have stayed at the Hostal Boqueria a few times and I have always had a positive experience. The hotel is in a great location with a metro stop immediately outside. You are on La Rambla and only a shortish walk from the other main attractions. It is a fairly simple hotel so those wanting luxury should probably stay elsewhere.... More

The Hostal is ideally situated,we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room was just as booked , clean comfortable beds, the shower was super (not a dribble) we would recommend it to anyone and would stay there again. Straight out of the front door and into the Boqueria market for breakfast wonderful !

the hotel was clean , simple for B&B , but a bit expensive manily due to the fact that it's located in Barcelona busiest street LA Rambla , which i totally recommend against it ,, i recommend you stay somewhere near Plaza De Catalunya ,as the street is too busy even the airport taxi can't reach the hotel !! I booked this hostel due to the location, price and the previous reviews and photos. The location is great just by the Liceu metro station on La Rambla. My room did not look anything at all like any of the photos taken, it was old, worn down, small, not so clean. There was no duvet just the bed sheets and... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighborhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-meter boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetizing selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
