The port Veil location makes this convenient to the city attractions as well as the beach. The views are spectacular. However the tile floors, the doors as well asthe partying outdoors make for a noisy night. The rooms are about the size of a cruise ship cabin, but quite funky. The entrance has several steps with no help for luggage.

Shortly can be described as a great hotel with perfect location, great service, tasty breakfast, modern bathroom, nice views from the top terrace. The main drawback: while sitting in the room, can hear the noise from the street.

Reasonably priced hotel in a fantastic location, but with paper thin walls. I imagine that if you had quiet neighbours it would get an excellent rating, so pot luck really. Room was good and clean, however furniture showing a lot of wear and the walls were heavily marked. Due to price and location I would probably stay again and give... More

The location is great. The service adequate. On the other hand, the small room being acceptable, the very small and uncomfortable bed do not do justice to everything this hotel has going for itself. The overall price make up for the shortcomings and the excellent location allows you to explore Barcelona at a reasonable budget

The hotel is situated in Barcelonetta, walking distance to the metro station (in Barcelona, you can go virtually everywhere with the metro). It is an excellent alternative for both going to seaside and visiting the city. The hotel is clean, with nice staff and good services. A good quality-price ratio

Love this hotel - walking distance to beach, bars, museums, harbor, bus stops, everything. Night life is awesome, views, as for noise...close the window. Clean hotel, has a wonderful staff. Nice little outdoor café connected to the hotel, shops and markets everywhere. I'll make this my home base next time.

Okay as other people are saying - yes the hotel is small, but who cares when there is so much to do and see in Barcelona!! It is perfect for a holiday if you want to be near the beach/harbour and the City! The nearest metro stop is a 5/10 min walk and the beach is a 5 minute walk... More

Just returned from 9 days in Barca. This was our 5th visit and we decided to stay in Barceloneta for a change but surprisingly they are few hotels to choose from in this area. I only looked at the reviews for Hotel 54 after I had booked and was fairly apprehensive to say the least. However the only downside was probably... More

I stayed here for work and was pleasantly surprised by the trendy, chilled out vibes. The public areas are pretty small but perfectly formed - great attention to detail. The bar is small- doubles up as the breakfast area in the morning. Breakfast is nice - I just grabbed a few take out bits and took it to the beach.... More

The staff are really helpful at the Hotel 54. There is a manned bar until 0000 every night which makes great cocktails and tapas. You can take this either in the lobby, on the patio or on the roof terrace. The room itself an internet ready TV for YouTube-ing at your leisure. The free WiFi is also a great asset.... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
