We had a great experience during our stay in the hostal. Even though the hostal is a litle oldfashion, the room was always clean and there was good wifi conection. It is located right in the centre, close to catalunya square. Staff was really nice and helpful. A special and big thanks to the russian receptionist katia. Everything was great.

The staff here were extremely unfriendly. They looked bored, unbothered and in no way seem like they want to help you. It feels as if they are there to finish their shift and rush home. There is one slightly elder man who is kind and friendly but the rest are all young people who really really need to be taught... More

We were staying in quadruple room with shared bathroom with my friends. The room was small and modest, but we didn't mind at all as it was cleaned up every day, bathroom was also clean and we didn't have to wait for a shower, even when it was August. Staff was really nice and helpful. I recommend you to pay... More

I booked this room in advance, and looked forward to 4 days in Barcelona. The people working here was nice. But the place itself, the rooms and the atmosphere is like an old East European spy movie from the early '70s. I can hardly describe my dissapointment entering the small, creepy room. The room was overviewing a " backyard" that... More

I want to warn those who intend to stay in this hostel: my daughter stayed there for several nights in August with three friends. She enjoyed her stay very much until she returned to her room one evening and found that her iPod and charger (total worth 250 euros) had disappeared during the day. The door was locked. She reported... More

This "Hostal" was almost perfect. I gave it 4 stars because of the staff. very disinterested and uninviting. I am American, so I guess I am used to the over the top greetings and customer service. That being said this place is excellent for the value. You can come and go 24 hours. They take your key when you leave... More

We stayed at the double with bathroom which appeared to be triplets (three single beds) with bathroom but we reassembled the beds so it was practically a double. Bathroom was clean and shower good. The staff seemed a little bit disinterested of the customers but that didn't bother us. That is a lot better than faking to be nice and... More

The staff were really friendly, helpful and spoke good English. I stayed in a single room which was basic but clean and tidy. New towels were provided each day. There was a communal area with complimentary tea and coffee. You could buy a host of drinks (beer, water, coke) from reception. Free WiFi and a computer which you could use... More

The hostel was reasonably clean and in a very good location. An easy shuttle from the airport and very close to Placa Catalunya. There is also a travel agency just a few doors down so that was helpful when booking the bus tour. The staff was friendly and it wasn't noisy at night. My only small complaint is that the... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
