My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in August 2014. We live in London and generally travel at least once a month. I stayed at Market Hotel a few years back and had a generally pleasant experience so decided to stay there again for our recent holidays. However it seems the place has gone downhill since my first... More

My husband and I have stayed here twice this year, the last occasion was for a week at the beginning of August. Both rooms we occupied were quite similar. The positives we found were the helpful reception staff (particularly the older lady apologies for ageism!!!), the great location (near two metro stations and a market), the comfy beds and the... My boyfriend stayed at the Market hotel for 4 nights. We chose the hotel as the decor looked great and it was really reasonable. Our first impressions were good, the interiors were really nice. Our room was small and slightly dark, however the bathroom was large and it had a huge shower which was nice. Beds were comfy and the... More

We must of searched the internet for weeks before finding this little gem! The hotel is a great mix of traditional Catalan architecture and modern design. Perfectly located just a 20 minute walk from La Ramblas. We stayed for 5 nights and were lucky enough to get a high room facing the front with a superb balcony for that late... More

Large room and bathroom. Very clean, pretty. Location was not near sites, shopping, or restaurants. Also not very close to public transportation. Loud area at night but not really sure why since no visible nightlife in area.

Great stylish hotel! Very good location: 15 minutes walk to La Rambla, Pl. Espanya, Pl. Catalunia or Magic Fountains (we really liked to end our day by watching the show and walking home by foot). Neighbourhood is full of cosy coffees favourite of locals, fruit & food shops, even ecological ones. You can find everything in this district - it... More

The hotel lived up to the website presentation, which isn't always the case. Room was fine, with a small outside terrace but no view. Comfortable bed, lots of room and decent bathroom. The public areas of the hotel were nice, restaurant was good for dinner and the bar and terrace were pleasant places to sit. The wooden floors upstairs area... More

Stopped here for 2 days whilst visiting Barcelona. The area is residential and the Market the hotel is named after is in the middle of being redeveloped but this doesn't effect the beauty of this hotel. The rooms are large, air conditioned and have some of the best showers I've seen in ages. The hotel has a great restaurant on... More

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and we were very pleased with what we got - stylish, clean, good service, at a reasonable price. LOCATION: Sant Antoni is a good area to stay in Barcelona - quiet and fewer tourists, and walkable to some tourist attractions (Rambla, MACBA, Plaza Catalunya, Plaza Espanya). The Sant Antoni Metro and the... More

First impression were pretty good. It's a lovely hotel, not to far away from the places a tourist would want to go. We had booked a double and a single room. The double room was okay. The lamp on the table was in need of a repair, the televison wasn't working (and the receptionist told us it would be fixed... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Market Hotel & Restaurant has been open since October 2004, and although it functions normally and is working as if it were, it is not finished yet. At the moment it has 33 rooms, and at the end it will have about 80. All the rooms have full-equipped bathroom, air conditioning, central heating, cable TV, free internet access and phone, and although all they look similar, they are not all the same, and there are also different types of rooms. ... more   less
