I felt compelled to post a review after reading some of the less than positive recent comments. We spent a total of 4 nights at the Market last week - two nights before a cycling tour of Baix Emporda and two nights at the end of the tour. The second two nights were included in the price of our tour... More

I went there with my girlfriend for 3 nights. Hotel and bathroom were clean, kingsize bed was huge, staff was really friendly and the breakfast was good. They had a basic choice but good products so that there was nothing to really complain about. It is centrally located wich is good to visit all the main touristic attractions. Metro and... More

Close to the centre, public transport and easy to get to from airport bus. However I was rather disappointed as I expected better for the price. Friendly receptionists, good hot shower and comfortable bed. However, I was kept awake one night by people in the next room talking and laughing, not very loud but the wall was clearly paper thin.... The hotel itself is fairly easy to find. Just three blocks from the metro station. Following room tips I asked for a room with a balcony which we got. This made a big difference to the room as we were able to sit outside in the sun if we had the time in our own private space which was a... More

This hotel is clean and safe. It is located near the metro and the desk staff are helpful. It is a good value for a place located in the city. We arrived a at the end of breakfast time and there was very little food left on the buffet. This was a disappointment.

The saying applies! At first it seems like a deal: awesome pictures, great price, cool restaurant, a promise ... But if you dont know Barcelona (it was my very first visit), you buy the story. When you get there... You see the neighborhood is not that great, pictures can be deceiving and you start to wish you had pay 20... More

Clean and fresh hotel. Offered everything we needed for a three day city break. Location is great, quick walk into the city centre and right beside a metro. A lovely bonus was the hotel bar, great atmosphere and cocktails. We will no doubt return

Just returned from a four night stay with four other blokes for a 50th celebration. We all found the hotel comfortable and the restaurant excellent. Myself and a friend both had an issue with what appeared to be bites but we have no evidence that these were related to bed bugs that I have seen in another review. There is... More

We were staying for 48 hours in the City and required a comfortable hotel with some creature comforts. The superior rooms with connecting lounge were fine but the sheets on the beds were thin given the season. We had trouble checking in after 3pm even though we were on a quick turnaround for our evening event. The excuse was cleaning... More

The Market Hotel, located in the Sant Antoni area of Barcelona is a very good place to stay. We have stayed there twice now and will book again. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable and large. Most hotels in Barcelona end up being a place to shower and sleep, as the City draws you... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
