We decided to stay in this hotel based on the excellent reviews it had previously been given. Don't get me wrong, this is a good hotel - just not exceptional. The staff are helpful and friendly and it is very clean and modern with comfy beds. However the rooms are very small and going to the loo in the night... More

We stayed at Villa Emilia for four evenings. When we arrived before noon, the staff was able to check us in early, which was much appreciated since we needed a nap! The room was very simple, but elegant and cozy. My husband and I almost felt like we were staying in a small apartment in Barcelona. We were on the... More

We arrived in Barcelona, with no luggage, and a prepaid car that refused to wait while I filled out the baggage claim. After getting a taxi to Villa Emilia, we were greeted by friendly people at the front desk. When our power adapter wouldn't work, the same friendly people provided a borrowed one. Our room was clean and the upper... More

We stumbled on this trendy hotel because we arrived a day early and the Hotel Dequesa could not accommodate us a day earlier. I would have paid to stay here, the entire time, for the value, half of the Dequesa. It was in a convenient location, right next to the subway. The hotel has cute "boutiquey" features, and the staff... More

Traveling in Europe I've come to expect hard beds than we're used to in the states. But this one takes the grand prize. After the first miserable night I got creative. Doubling over the comforter, and then layering the spare blanket doubled over on top of that made it just about bearable. The hotel overall is lovely and the bathroom... More

Is it just me, or have others noticed that Barcelona has an unusual number of highly rated hotels, and not at break the bank prices? So among these hotels, Villa Emilia manages to stand out. How? I think, first of all it's because it's not a chain hotel. It's relatively small which gives it a boutique feel. The staff is... More

Villa Emilia turned out to be a great choice for a short break in Barcelona. It's about a 5 minute walk from the Urgell stop on the airport Aerobus so no need for taxis. Our room was well sound-proofed with a good quality mattress on the bed: so no worries about sleeping despite it being just off the Gran Via.... More

The Villa Emillia is decent but not fantastic. We started a four night stay on September 18th, a Friday and the beginning of the big Barcelona festival. Room 31, which we were given, faced the side of the hotel and had a view of the roof and balconies of other buildings and garbage. If it wasn't for the hair I... More

We found this hotel absolutely perfect....... very friendly staff, room awesome and location perfect for exploring Barcelona. The hotel even had the most wonderful smell, which we were told comes through the air-conditioning. Would definite stay here again and would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Barcelona. Thank you for making our trip so perfect.
