We stayed here for two nights and the room was very comfortable and modern. The hotel itself was also lovely, it sells lovely homewards in the foyer and the restaurant and bar always has a great vibe. The only negative was the wifi, which repeatedly dropped out and when working, was very slow. It was rather frustrating for us and... More

We stayed here for two nights and found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable and well located. Our room was lovely with a view over the street but it was very quiet. The bathroom was superb and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpful with directions etc and we were able to leave our luggage on the... More

This smart hotel is well situated near a metro station. The quiet room and bathroom were clean, decorated in a modern style and reasonably large by European standards. There was an attractive choice of fresh food at breakfast and the staff were welcoming. We especially liked the soothing fragrance that greeted you in the lobby, which was very refreshing after... The room felt homey and not like a hotel room. The bathroom was large and bright! The sound proofing was not great as we heard the doors shutting in the hallway and the conversation in the hallway of our neighbors, but unless a door was being slammed, it did not bother us. The service was excellent and very friendly. Could... More

We chose the Villa Emilia because of the reviews on tripadvisor, and once again we are reminded how much tripadvisor is invaluable in our trip preparations. The location is perfect; just a block off the Grand Via, just a block from a metro stop, within strolling disyance to the Plaza Espagna. The staff is friendly and helpful. The decor is... More

A nice hotel, very well designed restaurant/bar/lobby and rooms. Excellent breakfast, very good service. Unfortunately, during our stay, one of the elevators broke on a Saturday, but was fixed right away on Monday. Also, our room keys both stopped working at one point, so I assume that they were wrongly configured. One thing I disliked about the room: The bathroom... More

One block from the very user friendly Barca metro. The hotel is slightly modern, very tasteflly decorated, great bar and breakfast (included for us). Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nice and just large enough. We had an exterior room overlooking the block. It was never too loud or too busy. The one thing I would caution is if you... More

Really spacious rooms, extremely helpful staff, 5 mins walk to train, and my goodness, when we stayed, the most beautiful pianist playing in the bar/restaurant in the evenings. We really were spoiled. Rooftop bar to enjoy a drink, and lounge. Highly highly recommend

With so much choice in Barcelona and never being there before I think that Villa Emilia hits the spot. So easy to get to from the airport - Aerobus to second stop Urgell, cross the road walk back two blocks and you are there. Checked in straight away, room very nice and airy, plenty of space and amenities. The metro... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
