very well located hotel. Had triple rooms which was fabulous for us. The hot tub and spa were a welcome relief after 2 days sightseeing. Would definitely stay here again when I'm next in Barcelona. Bar was open late. Las ramblas was a two minute walk away. Taxi rank across the street and great restaurants all around.

I simply enjoyed the 2 nights I spent there. From the very first moment Marc was really friendly and the room he chose for me was big, clean and silent. In addition, the restaurant they have is really amazing and the people in the reception (as I said, Marc over all) was extremely friendly. The only "bad point" (and for... More

The Catalonia Ramblas is located in the town center of Barcelona. The rooms are of varying sizes and the hotel which is on old building is easy to get lost in. The rooms are clean. But a hotel that sells itself as a 5 star hotel should provide at least BBC world news from its TV menu. The front desk... More

Excellent value hotel in central Barcelona. Very clean, good sized rooms and professional staff, most of whom spoke excellent English. I was staying for a couple of days with a friend having been waking in the Catalonia countryside and the spa facilities were a welcome feature and very good. The location is also ideal for getting the airport bus from... More

The best first: The location of the hotel is great with walking distance to a lot of interesting places. We were given a spacious room on the 4th floor facing a rather quit backyard. Don't bother to buy the hotel breakfast (priced to 19 euros); there are a lot of places to eat close to the hotel. The WI-FI-service at... More

We were booked in this hotel during an escorted tour when the original hotel was overbooked. The location was superb, however we were given a room on the 0 floor overlooking a pedestrian street with loud push carts and lots of pedestrian screaming; when we requested a new room we were moved to a smaller room on the 0 floor... The room was large and spacious, the room service fast and efficient . It is also a hotel that is 1 minute from Plaza Catalunya. We want to thank Bernardo who behaved very well and all the reception staff for being so attentive all both mornings , afternoons and evenings. Thanks to Adrian , Carlos and Aida by position ourselves... More

You can't beat the location of the Catalonia. It is also a very nice hotel with all of the amenities you might want. The pool and poolside bar were very nice. The rooms are pretty spacious. The best part though is the easy access, literally walking distance, to many sites and great places to eat.

The hotel restaurant was not open. The back entrance to the hotel, which would have allowed for easy access to restaurants was not open. Stinky sewer gas backed up in rooms 025 and 026. The first day we simply aired out the room via window (but 026 had no window). After complaining we were moved to a non- stinky room.... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
