I stayed here in June with three friends. We had two rooms which were spacious, clean and modern. The beds were very comfortable and rooms had air-con and safe. Mini bar was well stocked, although we did not use! Wifi was also excellent and free (I know this is not a priority for everyone, but this was a big bonus... More

Following our 5 nights stay at the Catalonia Ramblas Hotel, I can tell you that we have been very pleased by what they have to offer. The most positive aspect of the hotel has to be the location. It is at walking distance from pretty much anything you need. The staff was friendly whether at the front desk or the... More

We enjoyed out stay very much thanks to friendly staff, nice bar and very good location relative to Ramblas and shopping areas. Only drawback was the sauna / relax area where "hidden" in another part of the hotel and difficult to find, as well as not to well maintained. But it was not our main reason to select this hotel..

I was going to be kind and patient and gentle -- and generous with my rating. Despite the unbelievable and amateurish series of events at this hotel during the first two days of our stay, I was going to give them 2 stars and chalk it all up to inexperience. I figured maybe this very expensive place opened two or... More

The Catalonia Ramblas was a convenient location to Las Ramblas and the sites in Barcelona. The room was quite clean and adequate in size. A major selling point of the hotel is their breakfast buffet. In addition to many options for healthy food: yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, juices and healthy bread choices, they had an egg/omelet station with options made... More

The Hotel has an exceptional location. You can easily get to Las Ramblas ( 10 min by feet). The hotel is situated in the very heart of the city. It has an enormous lobby with a very friendly and welcoming staff. if you like calm hotels, it isn't one of them, it's always busy and full of tourists. The rooms... More

Exceptional hotel with a perfect location. We took the Aerobus from BCN direct to the placa catelonia and walked to our hotel from there. It was the equivalent of two blocks. The subway station is nearby which made for very easy travel around the city. The hop-on, hop-off bus tour was exceptional and well worth the money. One beer in... More

My stay at this hotel was enjoyable, although it has a number of issues: - Check in takes a long time – especially if there is a queue. I also had issues on multiple evenings with my room card not working. I had to queue up and wait a long time to get it fixed, only to walk back to... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
