We arrived in Barcelona 3 days prior to our cruise departure. We chose the Marina View for the location. Walk 1 block to the Metro, 1 block to the cruise terminal bus( $2 euros to any ship), 1 block to Las Ramblas and a short walk to dozens of restaurants. Clean, comfortable, affordable and a great location. What more could... More

A group of five of us stayed at MarinaView. My wife and I were there from 19-21 October (3 nites). It is located on Christopher Columbus Blvd, which is the ocean front street. From the street, it is hard to know what it the place is like because it is up on the 4th floor. Fortunately there is an elevator... More

I can't say enough about the Marina View B&B or Paddy. We stayed here pretty much as a last resort with nothing else available in the city. Such a lucky break. Here are the pros because I can't think of any cons. 1. Cheap compared to the rest of the non-hostel options. 2. Best location possible. Right off Las Ramblas... More

Stayed in the Columbus room for two nights pre cruise in September with my mom and sister and it was perfect! Loved the small balcony and being able to see the Columbus statue just down the street. There were fireworks out in the harbor our last night there, and the view from the balcony was outstanding! Sylvie was so helpful,... More

We stayed in the Columbus room for four nights and had a great holiday. Sylvie is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The apartment was kept very clean and fresh and just what we wanted for a quiet long weekend in Barcelona. The views over the marina are beautiful and we often stood on the balcony admiring the view and watching... More

What a great little place this is! We stayed post cruise and since we were on a small cruise ship that berthed at World Trade Center we were able to walk to Marina View with our luggage. We have stayed in other areas of Barcelona, but fell in love with this location due to its proximity to the waterfront and... More

I stayed in the Marina View B&B apartment 3 days prior to my cruise. Apart from the issues with the noisy guests who came the day after I arrived and the issue with the TV (which can happen), I was generally happy with the B&B. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great. The staff at the B&B were... More

The location of this B&B at the marina end of the Ramblas (and a metro station) makes it a great choice, but the hospitality makes it a great stay. Sylvie was just like having a friend in Barcelona! Gracias to Sylvie! We stayed in the Captain's Room on the 5th floor for three nights, and the Fisherman's room on the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights before our Mediterranean cruise. I must say that the service really stood out. Even with a late arrival (around 11:30pm), Sylvie was waiting for us. She showed us to our room and gave us all kinds of helpful information about Barcelona, including personal dinner recommendations. Breakfast was served in our room and was delicious,... More

We stayed at the Marina View B&B for one night before we boarded our ship, and we loved it. Our room (Captain's Room) was very clean and comfortable, as was our private bathroom. Also, the view of the Marina which was just across the street was really pretty. The location is very close to to where we boarded the ship, but... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
