A great base from which to explore Barcelona. Clean, safe, quiet hotel just 10 mins walk from plaza catalunya. Free Internet is ADSL only, wifi costs £15 per day. Breakfast is a bit of a rip off but there's plenty of mini-marts and cafes nearby.

The Casanova is very conveniently located a 3 min walk from the metro, and about a 10 min walk to las ramblas & Catalonia square – where the tour buses leave from. It is clean, modern and comfortable. Housekeeping comes early, so make sure to put your sign up if you don't want to be disturbed at 8am. We had... More

We stayed at the Casanova Hotel for 4 nights in July 2010. On the plus side, the hotel is very modern and stylish. Our room was spacious and clean, and so was the bathroom. The air-conditioning was working, which is very important since the temperatures can get quite high in the summer. The staff was friendly and helpful, although they... More

Great location between two central metro stops and about 10-15 minute walk to La Rambla. Stylish interior and good size room - one of the best we have had in a city hotel. Lovely bathroom. Breakfast was a little chaotic (coffee request forgotten about, food running low etc.) but only a small issue. If you are really senstive to noise... More

The casanova is very convientantly located a 3 min walk from the metro, and about a 10 min walk to las ramblas. It is clean, modern and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit dark as stated in previous reviews, but other than that, its fine. Housekeeping comes early, so make sure to put your sign up if you don't want... More

This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and decently sized. Every single staff member was exceptionally friendly and always willing to go out of their way to help or make recommendations for sightseeing or restaurants, etc. A pool is scheduled to go in next year and that would be the only thing I would say is missing. Four... More

We were so glad we stayed here instead of the hotel our travel agent recommended on Las Ramblas. It is close to that action but far enough away when you realize that Las Ramblas can be overbearing at times. It is trendy with a cool bar ( there was a midnight lingerie fashion show one night while we were haiving... More

I really liked the modern feel of this hotel, all decorated in blacks/greens/creams/browns. The rooms had a very minimalist/trendy decor and the bathroom was lovely. The beds (double room has two single beds pushed together) were extremely comfortable and the airconditioning could be set to very warm or absolutely freezing cold, which was divine in the July heat of Barcelona.... After traveling around Spain, came back to Barcelona and booked this hotel last minute to spend an extra 2 days. (1st hotel which was El Palace -great hotel-see review) . Overall, hotel is great location-close walk to everything we wanted to be near-shopping at Gracia, the city center and an easy walk to the old gothic barri. Right near the... More

Very good hotel at a reasonable price for the area. Very modern feel and the location was so close to La Ramblas. Would go to Barcelona again and would stay here again.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
