Stayed in Barcelona at Opera Palace, Pros Internet Free Close to Ramblas ( this is a con also) Friendly staff Cons Small rooms Dirty and noisy on first floor Better newer hotels available for the same or less Too close to Las Ramblas Dark (black painted hallways with lights off at night only triggered by motion, you have to walk... more

Stayed here with friends for 3 nights, returning yesterday. The only good thing about the hotel is its location, very central. Our room was cramped and, in order to get to one side of the bed you had to squeeze past the desk which was in a ridiculous place. We were forever bumping into the desk or stubbing our toes... more

Location great. Hotel landing smelt bad. Staff ignored us most of time. No English papers or hospitality despite all other guests being English. No bar or refreshment. Garden was dirty and unkempt. Sink in bathroom blocked, the shower soaked the bathroom when used and someone elses hair was behind sink. Bed was basic with 1 paper thin pillow per person.... more

quite modern, but lacking in the quality of detail, + good location + liked the free WLAN - though good location, not directly on ramblas, thus tipical side alley nuisance (watch your pockets) - very small rooms, cubicals - very basic breakfast more

Spent three nights here with five girlfriends for a 'big' birthday and could not have been happier with the location, rooms, reception, cleanliness and atmosphere. The hotel is in an old building and has an impressive huge carved wooden door but inside all is modern and minimalist. The garden area behind reception is pretty but there are lots of steps... more

When we did a search for a family room this hotel came up. The room was big enough and they did provide a cot - which kept breaking - this is as far as the family service went - no kettle in the room. Bar fridge - mouldy stickers on old drink bottles - other peoples empty bottles left in... more

Very dissappointed with this hotel, the website makes the rooms look very nice when in fact they are poorly fitted out, not too clean, toiletteries are very cheap and nasty, no extractor fan in the bathroom which meant a very black and mouldy ceiling above the bath! Staff very laid back, I had to ask three times for some glasses... more

You should know that there is no restaurant apart from breakfast, and no bar at all. A hotel without a bar seems very strange to me. The hotel is labelled as High Tech on every piece of print, and the whole emphasis is on the male business traveller. more
