Me and my daughter spent our first time in Barcelona, our stay in this hotel was excellent. The hotel is located about 50 meters from Las Ramblas. Our room was on the top floor towards the garden. It was so quiet that the only thing you heard was the birds. The room 1408 was clean and and enough space for two.The bed was almost as... I've been to Barcelona so many times now, and when travelling with a group of mates you won't do better than this. Clean, comfy, modern, great shower, excellent price. Ok its off one of the smelly streets just off Las Ramblas (opposite the equally smelly Cheers bar!) but that's part of the 'charm'....and the smell they pump into the lobby... More

Hotel was in a great location just a little off the Las Ramblas. So it was a conveient location to shopping, food, sights and lots of stuff. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was to get to my room I had to go up stairs, downstairs, through the garden then up stairs again. Beautiful garden but a... More

Easy to reach by walking from the Plaça Catalunya after getting out of the aerobus we found this hotel quiet and private in a small street only a few steps from one of the busiest avenues La Rambla.l We appreciated the welcome from the receptionist the 2Cristinas and Alba. The room was very clean and tidyed every morning. Excellent breakfast... More

On our three week trip through Spain we stayed in four star hotels only, and all of them were wonderful, except this one. The hotel shows nicely in pictures, and that was one of the reasons why we booked it, but it is definitely not four star quality. I'd say tree stars at the best. Starting with a really smelly... Enter of the small street Boqueria 25 metres down from La Ramblas. Almost opposite the famous Boqueria markets. Enter into the reception area which leads you to the beautiful gardens and relaxed bar outside. Quiet and private from the hubbub of the area outside. The room overlooking the garden was rather small but otherwise OK. Bed was comfortable and bathroom... More

Nice hotel. Room clean and large enough. Shower in the bathroom was a power shower very good. Staff very friendly. complimentary chocolates and water in the room with a welcome letter. Hotel in a good place for exploring Barcelona. Breakfast very good plenty of choice. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the staff really look after you.

The hotel itself is charming and in a great part of the city. It's well kept, has character and the staff are friendly. Afternoon drinks in the hotel bar courtyard were lovely. The rooms however are terrible, we know because we had to change rooms when the 'super hyrdro shower' simply didn't work and it was aparently acceptable for management... More

Nice hotel, great location. However the beds leave you with a back ache. High tech showers that don't work, wobbly floor, not enough pillows. 3* at a push maybe. Won't be visiting again. The best point were the staff, very friendly.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. The location was great and we were able to extensively explore the city. The hotel in itself is something else however. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel (I would say more 2-3). The entrance and garden are clean and well presented but the bedrooms are shabby and would definitely need... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
