I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews it had received and I have to say it was a good decision. It is located in the heart of the Gotic quarter of the city, just a few steps from La Rambla, Cathedral, hop on hop off bus stop and even metro station and beach is nearby. The room wasn't... More

As previously said, this hotel was great in terms of central location with everything in easy walking distance. We arrived very early having just been on a cruise and our room wasn't ready but the staff were happy for us to use the pool and complimentary internet or sit in the outside lounge area. We had a very nice, modern... More

My wife and I stayed here from 9th-16th August. By far the best aspect of this hotel is its location. Virtually everywhere you might want to see is either walkable or within easy reach using public transport. Ironically its location is also its weakest point during festivals and public holidays. We were unlucky in that we experienced three consecutive nights... More

Hotel was centrally located in the Gothic quarter and close to the tourist areas of Las Ramblas and Port Olyimpic. Rooms were clean and spacious, all facilities provided if needed (toothbrush, shower gel etc). Breakfast was great and service as well. Receptionists very friendly and speak good english. Roof terrace was ideal and private but small.

Hotel Barcelona Catedral was terrific. The hotel is handsome, the rooms are modern, clean comfortable with great beds. I was there with my husband and 3 children. We had adjoining rooms, which worked out perfectly with the addition of a cot. There was a nice pool on the roof deck (necessary after warm days sightseeing) and a gym that while... More

We stayed at this hotel on the night preceding a cruise. We wanted to do a bit of sightseeing and have a quiet place to catch up on our rest before the sip’s departure. The hotel exceeded our expectations-- the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The hotel is very close to the Plaça... More

This hotel has a great location and is walkable or easy train ride to most destinations. Very clean looking modern contemporary decor. We did not do breakfast as it seemed too pricey but plenty of choices nearby, Loved the fact that they gave us two adjoining rooms with a connecting door. Also loved having a coffee maker in the room.... More

Very modern hotel in top location. Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic - especially if you like yummy cakes! There are lots of shops and restaurants close by, the Rambla in short walking distance, public transport is close - altogether the perfect... More

Very modern hotel with great customer service. The only frustration we had was finding it- we were walking around in circles for a while so make sure you ask for very detailed directions from the hotel if you are arriving there by train. We would definitely stay there again!

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
