Service was wonderful. When we arrived that morning before a room was available, they offered to keep our bags so we could go out and see the city. It was the perfect location and we walked to everything that we wanted to see! It was very clean and the restaurant was actually very good, too! I recommend putting on something... More

We really liked the location of the hotel which was very near to las Ramblas. The hotel was nice and clean with lovely breakfast and very polite and helpful members of staff. We are definitely going back.

Just spent a week at this hotel in Barcelona for our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel is in a great location and you can walk to almost everything you want to see in Barcelona, including Las Ramblas, shopping, restaurants, etc. The staff was knowledgable, friendly, helpful, and gave great suggestions for restaurants, tours, and more. Our only complaint was that... More

Recently stayed five nights at the Barcelona Cathedral Hotel and we enjoyed our stay. I agree with others when they stated that the breakfast was over-priced, we had one breakfast - two fried eggs (served in the small skillet they were cooked on, with two rashers one small tomato and one mushroom piled on top) - but you don't have... Friendly staff at a great location. A nice hotel close to a market and next to the Barcelona Cathedral and in the historic Gothic area. The evening tour offered by the hotel is a really nice touch and take it in if you can.

Firstly, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to write this review. My husband and I are from Ireland and we got married in Barcelona last August. We spent a lot of time in the lead up to the wedding researching hotels in the city centre and Hotel Catedral was the only one which ticked all the boxes for... More

This hotel is close to the Cathedral, as you would expect from the name, and close to La Rambla and the old town - an ideal location. Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff are helpful. There is free internet access from 3 computers in the lobby area. Breakfast is good. There is a very small pool on the roof. Be... More

The Barcelona Cathedral allowed us to have a magic trip in Barcelona: located in the middle of the Gothic Barcelona, old town, we enjoined our stay just as local citizens, walking and avoiding loosing time in useless transports. Of course the Barcelona Cathedral access map/indications to the hotel and to the car park could be better, but a simple call... More

We arrived at the Hotel Catedral very early on the morning of May 10, 2011 due to the fact that we had to be up at 5AM to be off of our cruise ship by 7AM. The cab took us right to the Hotel and the security guard on duty for the nights & early morning, let us in &... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
