I stayed at this hotel for a conference. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, spoke perfect english, and met all of my needs. The room was clean, and included a very nice bathroom, large TV, and plenty of extras. The only downside was the hardness of the bed, which others had noted on... More

This is a great hotel, situated right across the Barcelona Cathedral. The rooms are great, the place is extremely clean and the staff is fabulous. The only downside is that even if you are willing to pay for wi fi in your room, the signal is weak and Ipads or Mac notebooks cannot get the signal. Also you would have to... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and were happy that we had chosen this hotel based on Trip Advisor recommendation. Room was good size with king bed and large bathroom. Location was excellent in the old city part of town next to the cathedral. Staff was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Hotel was not noisy since it was in the... More

We just got back from a terrific four night stay at the Barcelona Catedral Hotel. I must admit that it did not look promising when we arrived early in the morning to find nobody at the front door to assist us with our luggage. However, the minute we went to the front desk, somebody appeared to offer assistance. Our room... More

The hotel was spotless and suprisingly quiet with excellent food and an excellent not to be missed breakfast. This hotel exceeded our expectations. Not that big yet big enough not to have to avoid people at every turn. Rooms are spacious and quite modern. Roof top pool was cool but refreshing on a hot day (some construction still going on here but no inconvenience). Pretty little coutyard as well to sit outside and have a drink. Most pleasing... We stayed here for three nights before a cruise and were very happy with our choice. The location could not be better for exploring the old city, the Ramblas, port area, and the Boqueria market. It is also a 5 minute walk from Placa de Catalunya and the subway. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but the area... More

In our opinion, this hotel earned its TripAdvisor Accolades. It was in a great location. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The covered patio ("chill out") was lovely and a nice place to relax with a glass of cava after walking all day. The included breakfast was amazing and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. My only... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
