The hostel is in a very central location, which is great, and the room was clean - but we wouldn't stay again. We were woken up every night by noisy people in other rooms because the walls were so thin, including someone vomiting in the floor's only toilet (which I guess is to be expected in a hostel). There was... More

Stayed here for one night, came straight from the airport via taxi which was only around 30 euro which I didn't think was too bad. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful! We had a private double room which was clean and ideal with a sink and a shared bathroom just down the hall. Only downside was that the... More

The location is great according to La Rambla (2 minutes walk away), the old town, shopping and restaurants. Unfortunately the street Sant Pau does not feel 100% safe. Very friendly staff. No elevator. Cleanliness is very good. We rented a room with a separate bathroom, which was nice. The room we rented was a bit worn down, and in need... More

Shared a double room with my partner for 4 nights. Lovely staff who have average/nonexistent English but are nice. Room is pretty basic but had a sink. Bed made, room cleaned and fresh towels brought every day whilst we were out. No worries about hiding belongings (iPads just out on tables are fine etc). Great location, just off La Rambla.... More

The hostel is basic, but the rooms and shared bathrooms are clean. The staff are friendly, they make your bed and give fresh towels every day. Can't beat the location. Hostel felt very safe - at night the door to the building is locked so you have to buzz in to the hostel - 24 hr reception. No problems with... More

Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Exceeded my expectations and the location was great with a metro station at the end of the street which gets you anywhere you want to be (TIP grab the T-10 ticket for travelling on the metro, its inexpensive and really useful). The rooms were cleaned every day and the shared facilities were really... More

Stayed two nights at this hostal. Good location as it's right next to Las ramblas near Liceu station. At the hostal the lady at the reception was really friendly and helpful, she made us feel welcomed. We had a room with our own bathroom. Room was clean and towels were changed everyday. Oh and there's a kettle in the room.... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
