Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Exceeded my expectations and the location was great with a metro station at the end of the street which gets you anywhere you want to be (TIP grab the T-10 ticket for travelling on the metro, its inexpensive and really useful). The rooms were cleaned every day and the shared facilities were really... More

Stayed two nights at this hostal. Good location as it's right next to Las ramblas near Liceu station. At the hostal the lady at the reception was really friendly and helpful, she made us feel welcomed. We had a room with our own bathroom. Room was clean and towels were changed everyday. Oh and there's a kettle in the room.... More

We have stayed one night on Valentine's Day and it was okay. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. We had a room without a bath room but with a sink which is kind of a hussle but we managed. The location is absolutely perfect. Please be aware to bring earplugs because of the thin walls.

Friendly personnel and clean rooms. We got a room with our own bathroom, the cleanup every day, new towels and all. If you smoke they have a small balcony (open from 10 to 9, but you can ask for the key anytime), but no ashtrays. The location is perfect.

decided to settle in this hostel because of the good reviews. We arrived late but we were greeted and immediately given a room key, even without taking the money. The hostel is located right near the metro station and near the pedestrian street of La Rambla. But despite this terrible night to the hostel to go - in the alley... More

Location is excellent for the subway and Las Ramblas - just off on a narrow side street that felt pretty safe even later at night TIP - there is no elevator and Hostal access is up 2 or 3 flights of steps - ok for those who are reasonably agile - but would be a problem for someone who has... More

Rooms are pretty spartan, but immaculate, with cleanup and new towels every day. We had a shared bathroom down the hall but with a sink in the room. The location can't be beat, just a half block off the rambla on a pedestrian-friendly street so nights were quiet. Neighborhood abuts the La Raval so you will see some prostitutes and... More

The staff in hostel was very nice, friendly and helpful. They gave us many infos about city and travelling. The room was always clean when we came back in the night or evening. The location is almost perfect, 3 minutes of walking to the metro station and La Rambla. Greetings

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
