The twin room cost £40.00 for two nights. Location is absolutely fantastic, especially if travelling from airport because the hotel is is directly opposite main train station. Minutes walk from loads of great places such as harbour. City centre accomadation of same standard in other western parts of world would be double at least. Absolutely great value for money. It... Pluses: - a location you can't beat (5 min to the beach & Barceloneta, 5 min to Barri Gothic, opposite the railway station) - the building and the stairway hall have that "The Shadow of tje Wind" feeling:) - clean - towels changed every day - nice staff (one of them "the old man of horror stories ;) ) Minuses:... While booking the place I expected basic conditions. But the double room was 2m x 3M with window facing inner courtyard, no sunlight, no air. Facing other windows directly. The first person at the reception was super nice and welcoming which gave us a very positive attitude. Later, however, we faced some grumpy gentleman who if asked sth seemed angry... More

Hostel was nice and we didn´t hear anything threw the walls. Location is good. The room was so hot, the outside temperature was +32 and the hostel has no air conditioning. The bed was horrible and hard. The shower was nice and there was enough hot water. WIFI work well in lobby.

Some staff were unfriendly and not willing to help. Room was ok, but too hot in August -- no air conditioning. However, location is perfect -- close to El Born (best area in Barcelona) and beach by foot.

We chose this hostel for two good reasons: location and price. We certainly didn't expect a 5-star hotel for our 3-night stay in Barcelona, but we certainly expected to be able to sleep at night and be able to take a shower every morning! Right from the start we couldn't wait to get out of there. We arrived late on... More

Hostel is very well situated right oposite the train station and only few minutes walk to the busy streets of the town. Staf is friendly and willing. We were pleased by allways clean toilet and shower and also by saving our luggage during last day of our stay till late afternoon for free. A bit disapointment was only our window... More

The hostel is perfectly located and is a great base for exploring the city. There is a station, bus stop and a beautiful park with the zoo nearby. The beach as well as La Rambla are within a walking distance. The area is great, there are plenty of nice cafes and restaurants. The rooms in the hostel are nice and... More

Very good location with good access to historic areas and beach. Rooms are small and basic. Staffing costs are minimised by the cleaner also doing night/early morning front desk, but cutting corners by cleaning rooms of early departures. Result = you get woken at 6am by someone banging around and dragging laundry baskets so they can get off earlier. Not... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
