I stayed here for two nights was a bit apprehensive at first did not really know what to expect but i must say the Receptionist put your mind at ease, and really can't do enough for you Is quite Dark at night and i would say that the Hotel would really need to have a proper sign so you can actually... Far more than a hostel. The Quartier Gothic offered everything and more for a very reasonable and student friendly price. The staff were extremely friendly, it was excellently located and the security of the hostel was exceptional. I would highly recommend.

I stayed there last year. The block where it is located is very dark and the same thing as the entrance of the building where the hostal is. But inside is very different. The lobby is very cleaned and clear. The staff is not that kindly but it is not rude. Our room was ok and there was a sink... More

This is a good budget hotel, clean rooms and in good location. Would recommend knowing your way around in the area as I came back after 10 pm and the lower doors were closed to courtyard. Took me a while in the dark to find the intercom to get buzzed in. All the places look the same when they are... More

Found this budget hotel to be perfect for our stay in Barcelona. Great location but it can get noisy at night between the partiers, street cleaning & garbage pickup so I was very glad to have ear plugs.

This is a perfect budget hotel for a city trip. It's cheap, clean, the staff is friendly and the location is perfect. The hotel is situated in the middle of the Gothic Quartier which is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in Barcelona.

We booked this place as a budget alternative to the pricey hotels. So with that you have to keep in mind you get what you pay for. Our room was quite small with the bed practically sandwiched between the walls. It is in a good location just 5 minutes from place de catalunya and la rambla. It was extremely hot... More

PRO's: Location in the center of the city. Cheap prices. Availability. CON's: Noisy neighborhood (drunken tourists yelling throughout the night), receptionists with poor English, thin walls (our room was made up of one original bigger one separated into two).

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
