Very nice and modern hotel with a nice rooftop terrasse and pool, very central and relatively quiet... The rooms have AC and a bright look, all fairly new and giving a nice and comfortable surrounding. The restaurant next door has a good-looking variety of tapas...

Very good value for money and well located hotel in the heart of born district. Staff very polite and helpful. Near to the main city attractions as well as restaurants and bars. I highly recommend it!

Breakfasts a little pricey. Rooms are modern and clean and recently renovated. Local bakery, a few steps from the front door, is a fantastic alternative for coffee, fresh juice and warm croissants at a fraction of the cost.

The hotel is in a great location - BUT that comes with the negative side There is a bar right under the hotel that is open until 3am! If you have a room on the interior side I imagine you won´t hear it but on the street side it will be noisy.

In a city filled with great hotels I would avoid this one at all costs. It's location is ok, but the positive review ends there. My room was very basic, it smelt stale and did not offer natural light. During my stay the room consistently lost all power requiring the staff to investigate each time. Whilst technical problems are occasionally... More

Great place to stay in Barcelona. Some have already noted that this is not a luxury establishment, but if you go to Barcelona to get out in the city, this is a great option. The rooms are large enough for a single bed a table a chair and a night stand. It is completely adequate for staying the night. I... More

Don't misunderstand - no one will mistake Hotel Ciutat for a luxury establishment. However, it does everything very well at very good prices. Location? Excellent. Helpful of staff? Excellent. Fair price for the room? Definitely. Quiet? Yes. Little perks are nice too, like the free water bottles on each floor. Very unexpected and yet very welcome for Europe. If we... More

Ive stayed here many times and i love this hotel. The staff are great, always ready to help, the location is brilliant in the old town of the city, very close to all the tourist attractions... Can be lively but the hotel is completely peacuful. Love the roof terrace and pool. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location, lots of great cafes nearby, short walk to the Placa Catalunya and La Ramblas. We had a clean, comfortable room on the quiet side of the building (away from street) which did not offer much of a view but that is fine if you're only there to sleep. Free bottled water is a nice touch. The only negative... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
