This hotel was perfectly situated in a nice street not far from restaurants, museums and shopping. The staff was very helpful and service minded and there were free cold water in every floor of the hotel - big plus! But the restaurant at the hotel was VERY expensive and no good value for money! We ended up walking across the... More

Stayed here for two nights in late July for €90 per night. Found the staff to be extremely helpful, in particular the blonde haired man on reception. The hotel is spotless and seems to have been recently renovated. Wifi was excellent throughout. The rooms are functional, no fancy soft furnishings, think IKEA furniture and laminate flooring. It reminded me of... More

For a 3-star hotel it was fantastic. The rooms were simple but clean and functional. There was a small pool upstairs for a quick dip while relaxing at the roof top bar. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was free bottled water continuously - a fantastic perk. But what we loved most was it's exceptional location!!! It wasn't smack... More

This hotel was only a 10 minute taxi after we got off the airport bus. Staff very friendly and let us leave our bags downstairs until our check in time came around. The rooms were bright and airy and we had 3 balconies in our triple room. The roof top pool was great, very clean and sufficient size considering its... More

Low expectations as it was a three star hotel, happily surprised though. Modern spacious rooms big double bed and great shower. Location right in the Born district in the centre of the best night life and just around the corner from the Picasso museum. Even has a pool on the roof to chill out after a day's sightseeing. Will stay... More

We spent 5 nights in the hotel. It is really close to "Estación del Norte", perfect location if you take a Ryanair flight to Girona, then the bus to Barcelona. The staff was really nice and welcoming, the room was clean & the swimming pool was cozy; the location was perfect: ten minutes walking from the Ramblas, less than 10... More

This hotel is as close to Fawlty Towers as you can get. We stayed for a week during july. Our first room we had to change because sombody had been smoking in it. It was supposed to be a non smoking room. The second room was connected with another room, in wich a family with smalll children were staying. Needless... More

Very comfortable room, good value for money, easy walk to the Old Catedral, Rail Station, Jaume subway. Brilliant selection of Tapas bars etc., but no noise locally. Has own bar and small restaurant = very good value for money. 2nd time we have stayed here. In the Born district. No 'fridge in room but free iced bottled water dispensers on... More

We found the Ciutat hotel to be in a great location close to the la rambla, yet not too close that it is too noisy to sleep! The service was excellent! The hotel did not have parking which is a huge consideration in Barcelona. You do not have to pay for street parking weekends but other than weekends parking could... More

There really is nothing to complain about this hotel except for maybe the simplicity of the room and lack of decor. Other than that the room was clean, service was friendly, location is amazing and rooftop pool is a nice bonus. The hotel is located in the Born district, which is an older residential part of the city so you... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
