My daughter and I stayed at the Gran Ronda for 2 nights - location was good, just a 10 minute walk from the Aerobus bus stop. Easy walking distance to the Bari Gothic, food market, museum of modern art and to pick up the hop on hop off tourist bus. The hotel is very clean and smells very nice -... More

We spent 4 days at the Gran Ronda. The hotel is in the perfect location to walk to a lot of markets, museums, and restaurants. The metro is also very close, so that gets you around the whole city. Our rooms were very nice and clean with a fairly large bathroom and nice shower. It was fairly quiet, and the... More

I stayed her for a week on business. Very comfortable and low key hotel. I was on the first floor and was worried about the street noise but it was OK. A benefit of first floor was I took the stairs and had no need for the lift. Beds and linen were very comfy. Breakfast a plentiful euro style buffet.... More

Stayed here for 3 nights during a short city break. The hotel is well located to la rambla. The breakfast was very good plenty to choose for and a great stat to the mornings. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, out room key did not work one evening and they resolved this very quickly. Hotel was very clean. Only a... More

what a great place do not listen to any of these bad reviews, great location, great staff, lovely rooms. But i would say maybe go high up to avoid metro noise, I think we were in 503, on the road side, you could hear faint rumble like thunder but only 6 seconds! new towels ever day, room cleaned every day.... We stayed in this hotel for four nights at end of February. It was booked thought British Airways as a combined flight and room deal, and turned out to be great value for money. The rooms are modern, comfortable, clean and staff very helpful. Located to the west of The Ramblas, just on the outskirts of the old part of... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a very comfortable stay. The hotel is in great location as you are very close to the city centre and walkable distance to some local attractions. The hotel is located 2 mins away from Universitat metro station which is served by the Aerobus service direct from the airport. It is about 10... More

Stayed at this hotel for three nights. The hotels is central, a ten minute walk from Placa Catalunya, the nearest metro stop is Universitat, which is next to the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. There is a mini bar (fridge) in the room with tea and coffee making facilities. The room was very... More

The hotel is a few blocks from the Airport Bus terminal at Placa Catalunya, two metro stations and La Rambla. Just two doors away is the all-in-one Moritz cafe, restaurant and bar. It is also near the El Raval neighborhood with a number of museums, numerous small supermarkets and affordable eateries/cafes where you can get cheap coffee, baguettes and groceries.... More

I usually stay at this hotel when I go on business to Barcelona. Its location, just off the Plaça Universitat, makes it a perfect location for visiting the Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya and the Passeig de Gràcia, and the nightlife and restaurants of L'Eixample, while offering great value for money. There's a taxi rank just over the road, 100m to the... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
