We stayed 4 nights in the Gran Ronda. With tip, it cost 45 Euros to get to the hotel from the Airport (BCN). The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The Hotel is only 1 short block from the Universitat metro stop which will bring you to all the major destinations. The neighborhood is charming with plenty of shops... More

Spent 5 nights in this hotel. Very disappointed. Room size ok. Bathroom adequate and cleaning services very good. However, no natural light and inadequate lighting. Two lifts in centre of hotel meant it was very very noisy, every time reception phone rang you could hear it and all discussion with reception also heard. Wooden floors in corridors and rooms, cool... More

We stayed in Barcelona for a week and chose this hotel because of its good location. La Rambla and Placa de Catalunya are only a short walking distance away, and Universitat metro station is almost next to the hotel. If you are arriving from the airport with the Aerobús, the bus stops are also near the hotel. The hotel itself... More

We were very happy staying here. Clean rooms, good sized bathroom and shower, comfortable bed. The location was nice since it's a bit away from the busier areas, but still walking distance to a lot of sites, or very close to the subway, making everything in the city easily accessible. The only downside was it was a bit noisy -... More

My daughter and I stayed at the Gran Ronda for 2 nights - location was good, just a 10 minute walk from the Aerobus bus stop. Easy walking distance to the Bari Gothic, food market, museum of modern art and to pick up the hop on hop off tourist bus. The hotel is very clean and smells very nice -... More

We spent 4 days at the Gran Ronda. The hotel is in the perfect location to walk to a lot of markets, museums, and restaurants. The metro is also very close, so that gets you around the whole city. Our rooms were very nice and clean with a fairly large bathroom and nice shower. It was fairly quiet, and the... More

I stayed her for a week on business. Very comfortable and low key hotel. I was on the first floor and was worried about the street noise but it was OK. A benefit of first floor was I took the stairs and had no need for the lift. Beds and linen were very comfy. Breakfast a plentiful euro style buffet.... More

Stayed here for 3 nights during a short city break. The hotel is well located to la rambla. The breakfast was very good plenty to choose for and a great stat to the mornings. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, out room key did not work one evening and they resolved this very quickly. Hotel was very clean. Only a... More

what a great place do not listen to any of these bad reviews, great location, great staff, lovely rooms. But i would say maybe go high up to avoid metro noise, I think we were in 503, on the road side, you could hear faint rumble like thunder but only 6 seconds! new towels ever day, room cleaned every day.... We stayed in this hotel for four nights at end of February. It was booked thought British Airways as a combined flight and room deal, and turned out to be great value for money. The rooms are modern, comfortable, clean and staff very helpful. Located to the west of The Ramblas, just on the outskirts of the old part of... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
