First of all this hotel is very well placed in Barcelona. Close to the subway and not far away from Ramblas and the harbor. What strikes you first is the fantastic courtyard like reception area, look up and you se a beautiful colored glass reflecting the light from outside. The room was simple but functional with a nice bathroom and... More

We were 3 couples and booked 3 double rooms for 4 nights in June, 2015. 2 of the 3 rooms did not have a working air conditioner for the entire 4 days stay. Also, all the rooms had windows that opened into the hotel atrium instead of on the street which was horrible as we could not open our windows... More

This hotel was such a disappointment after reading the reviews on trip advisor & making the selection! The room was so small and on top of that the air conditioning would not go below a certain degree! On asking for help the receptionist actually put her hand in front of the vent & said that since she could feel cold... More

This hotel is a little gem tucked away in the beautiful city of Barcelona . The Moritz Brewery was just steps away and you could buy an excellent meal along with wine and beer for a good price. We had room 602 wonderful room.. Joardi on reception 10/10 was just excellent and went out of his way to help you... More

We stayed at this boutique hotel because of its close distance to MACBA where PrimaveraPro was taking place. We enjoyed its neighbourhood thanks to a young atmosphere and lots of good places to eat. The big advantage for us was a close distance to an airport shuttle bus (aerobus) and a metro station. There is a store right across the... More

I had a basic room on the 5th floor. The room was quite small and the only window was on to the central lift shaft. However, the room was comfortable, very clean and well-maintained. There was a mini-bar and a safe. A kettle with material to make tea/coffee was provided. Excellent Wi-Fi in the room. The room was quiet. On... More

We stayed 4 nights in the Gran Ronda. With tip, it cost 45 Euros to get to the hotel from the Airport (BCN). The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The Hotel is only 1 short block from the Universitat metro stop which will bring you to all the major destinations. The neighborhood is charming with plenty of shops... More

Spent 5 nights in this hotel. Very disappointed. Room size ok. Bathroom adequate and cleaning services very good. However, no natural light and inadequate lighting. Two lifts in centre of hotel meant it was very very noisy, every time reception phone rang you could hear it and all discussion with reception also heard. Wooden floors in corridors and rooms, cool... More

We stayed in Barcelona for a week and chose this hotel because of its good location. La Rambla and Placa de Catalunya are only a short walking distance away, and Universitat metro station is almost next to the hotel. If you are arriving from the airport with the Aerobús, the bus stops are also near the hotel. The hotel itself... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
