This is a 2 star rated "Pension" (Guest House). It had a lift, clean room, clean bathroom, good hot water and comfortable bed. Free Wi-Fi, Television and friendly helpful staff. Great location in walking distance to all the historical sites. Heap of bars and restaurants nearby and close to Airport Bus Stop and Metro. Some reports had said it was... More

Situated 2 min walk from Universitad Metro and 10-15 min walk from La Ramblas / Catalunya Square, this hotel is undeniably in an excellent location. It was the cheapest accommodation close to key attractions. The rooms are clean and the reception staff are friendly and helpful. The first impression was not great with drunks standing outside in the neighbouring vicinity.... More

Location is perfect- right in the heart of the good stuff, and room very comfy for the money. However, I'm the type of guy who really appreciates: in room wifi, working power points and a shower (my room only had a bath which, although relaxing, a little annoying) so it loses some points there.

We just spent three nights here. The room was quite dated with a mirror on the ceiling. It was very basic with one hair dryer in the whole place. When you plugged it in you had to try & keep your elbow on the plug to stop it from falling out. The first night there were 2 sachets of shower... More

The 4-star review has to be considered in context. This is a very cheap hostel for Barcelona and the location is good for access to central areas. Our room was decent enough, with en-suite and air con. Surprisingly good given the price. Functional and no-frills. Would recommend if you just want a base from which to explore the city.

I think its for people that are going to get out abd explore the city rather expecting a luxury holiday in their hotel.. think it's fair to say that this hotel isn't amazing but at the same time we paid so little that we were all the same happy. Yes the hotel doesn't look like the nicest place in the... More

Please keep in mind that this is a Pension not a hotel. But for Barcelona which is very expensive. I liked it very very much. WE only used the room to come back late at night after very long walks and tours in the city. The place keeps open 24 hours and all of the lady's in reception are absolutely... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
