We chose this hotel because it stated about 20 minutes walk from Las Ramblas. I think it would have taken much longer as the bus took approx 10 minutes. It was also very difficult to find a decent restaurant in the area (mainly tapas bars). The hotel was not of a standard that we expected as trip advisor had given... More

Just had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was fabulous. Great staff and perfect location. Couldn't have asked for more. Must try is Lolita's just across the road. Gorgeous Tapas . The bar across from Lolita on the corner is a must for tapas too (best chorizo sausage!) and the best larger my husband has ever taste!!... More

We booked this hotel based on the trip advisor reports and the cost as it came in at over a hundred euros less than the one we had originally looked at - and we were not disappointed it is a city centre hotel good sized room not massive, big comfortable bed, television, good sized shower bathroom. Evenia Rocafort is quite a well situated hotel, 3 minutes walking from Poble Sec metro station (which is, itself, 2 stations away from La Rambla). It is located in a rather peaceful and nice neighbourhood. Rooms are not large, although I wouldn't call them small - they're rather average, with furniture that does not impress. Bathrooms are OK, though. Good... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
