Ive just booked this hostel for the 4th time. It appeals to me as location is between Raval and Rambles. Staff have always been friendly. Its always clean and comfortable. Ive stayed in the twin with private bathroom and the double with shower before. If you do have the shared bathroom it is kept clean ive never seen it otherwise.... More

Just checked in earlier today and had to write something on here. This accommodation is very central and is amazing value at £11/night if all you are looking for is a base to explore this amazing city. The room I am in is basic, but with a TV, air conditioning and a separate wash basin area. Shared bathroom/toilet is ok.... More

For the price paid, it was nice. A small and comfy bedroom with A/C. The hostel is close to the Ramblas and the subway, and that was the most important thing. The staff is friendly and the room was clean. But the fridge and the microwave weren't clean.

Awful place. Awful neighborhood. No air, no windows, and the smallest elevator like EVAR. I only needed a palce for 1 night, and i still think i could get something better for 25 eur. Maybe will be ok if u want to spend 16 hours on the Ramblas and 8 in the hotel, and still doubt it.

I was a bit worried about spending a night here as it is cheap. I selected it because the room had A/C and you need that in August. I was very happy with what I got for the price. Friendly welcome and a room with good working A/c, a modern sink, TV and very very clean bed. Wifi in the... More

I can't say I enjoyed this place, but it's hard to find anything cheaper in Barcelona. So it was ok for one night but wouldn't choose it for longer stays, the room is quite small and dark. Location is not bad but the real value is in the staff, which was very helpful and friendly.

Perfect location in a friendly mis - understood location. Room was spotless as was shared toilet, clean crisp white bedding and towels and fast wifi that certainly reached to the 1st floor. I have stayed in every class of hotel and hostel and if you want a cheap base to explore central Barcelona or enjoy the night - life with... More

We booked the double room with private bathroom. The only bad thing were the beds. Best location possibile without paying much. The staff is very nice and the room was clean. We didn't have any problems with the locals

Spotlessly clean hotel, polite and pleasant staff, not a posh part of town, but just off the Ramblas, it's a good central location with nice bars and restaurants very close by. If you're only sleeping in you're hotel at this price what more could you want?

I had read reviews and was worried about staying in this hostel, booked by my friend. Its is a great location just a few minutes walk from Las Ramblas and this is the selling point. Reviews I read complained about the reception being poor and prostitutes outside. The man on reception could not have been more polite and helpful, he... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
