Having stayed in vacation rentals and hotels in every barrio of the Ciutat Vella for the past 10 years, this hybrid "aparthotel" tops our list. Location is under 10 minutes from Santa Maria del Mar and Passeig del Born in one direction, and Plaza Catedral in the other- can't get much better! Upon arriving our first request of an outdoor... Just perfect. The room it so big, you have a kitchen, which we only used for coffee and cold water- but it was there, there are so much closet space, that i dont even can fill it out. And of cource the central position it perfect as well. We loved it and would come back!

What a fantastic find! A very well styled boutique hotel in the Gothic quarter of BCN. Located amongst the beautiful alleys and lanes it's about 50m from the the Jaume metro station and a short walk (5/10 mins) to the beach, Las Ramblas and even closer to the El Born and the cathedral. The rooms and beds were large and... More

Mercer Boria is a small boutique hotel with only 11 rooms, owned by the number one hotel in Barcelona- Mercer. We booked a junior suite, but were upgraded to a suite - 59 sqm. actually it was more like a flat. It's located in the El Born quarter, so you are within walking distance to most of the things to... This was a really fantastic hotel in the El Born neighborhood of Barcelona! We booked a loft suite but we are pretty sure we were upgraded to a larger room because we had 2 full rooms that were closer to an apartment than a hotel room. We had a full kitchen and the room was extremely quiet. The beds were... More

We had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The room was huge. The staff was very caring for us. The breakfast was really good ! It's very well situated and at walking distance from a lot of Barcelona's hotspots ! The only downsides were that sometimes we could hear the neighbors, the first day the room was hard to get... We only stayed 2 nights in a junior suite, but we loved it -- location is in the heart of center city so easy access to everything -- and even though it's on a main walking thoroughfare, it was very quiet at night. Amenities were wonderful too -- had a great kitchen -- almost full-size and the bed was extremely... More

This small hotel is hidden in small alley Boria street close to the Picasso museums. 3 of us stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment we were pleasently surprised at the size of the rooms specially in a big city and the great price. Comfortable modern bed. We will be back.

Small boutique hotel near the Cathedral and Picasso Museum - all little byways with people, shops and restaurants - couldn't have been better. Hotel staff amazing - all hotels should have Carla, Edurne, Laia and Ruben! Room(small apartment!-4 rooms) was great - just what we needed to relax in after a day of walking and sightseeing. Extremely clean and well... More

We just returned from a trip which began in one of our favorite cities, Barcelona. We booked a small hotel, thinking it would be charming. Think again. Starting with the positive, the staff was sweet, if ineffectual. The location was okay. But- the street is very narrow so the buildings next door prevent any light from filtering in. The lighting... Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
