We decided whilst in Spain to go see Barcelona play a home game, and booked an all in deal through Groupon. The hotel from the pictures looked ok but they must have been taken many years ago, as the hotel is in need of a refurbishment. Parking in the area proved a problem so we had no choice but to... We usually look for simple but smart hotels for our weekend breaks, but this place was a bit below the line. The location was fine, as there are plenty of reasonably-priced taxis around and the metro is not far. The area was not well served by restaurants (which was a problem as the hotel's restaurant was not great - see... More

This hotel was in a perfect location for sightseeing, just 5 minutes walk from the metro and within 2-5 stops of most tourist places to visit with plenty of coffee and cake places and places to eat between the hotel and the metro. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was basic no kettle but clean throughout, with the window shut... More

I stayed here for 5 nights with my younger sister. We took a taxi to the hotel and paid €31. All around we found it pretty good. Front desk staff were alright, good breakfast and decent sized room. Beds are okay and TV only shows one English channel but that's was fine since we weren't in Barcelona to watch TV.... More

We stayed in this hotel in November 2014. The hotel was in quite a good location but the rooms were pretty basic. The bed was, to say the least, bearable. But to be honest, after all the walking we did we would have slept on a knife edge. The toilet was shocking. The bath was tiny and was covered in... More

Stayed here with my husband for a 2 night stay this week. On arrival we were worried that the room wouldn't be available for us as we arrived at 12pm . At the desk sat a lady who to say the least was unfriendly, she never smiled or ask how our journey was she barely even looked at us but... More

A nice hotel handy for the metro station, so it's got very easy access for the city sights. It has a pool on the roof but as it was November/December it wasn't in use. We had room only so I can't comment on the breakfast or dinner.

A great hotel, nice clean rooms, very quiet and the air con was a blessing. Pool and jacuzzi (if a little small) and roof top sun terrace is a great place to chill out after a few hours exploring the sights of Barcelona. Staff are nice and friendly and the breacfast is all you can ask for, I would definatly... More

the rooms were too small. Haven't seen the small old TV from a long time. But the location was not too bad. It was a little far from the city center. Breakfast was ok. Staff at the front desk were very helpful. Over all an ok place to stay

This was my first time staying in Barcelona with my partner we were looking for an affordable hotel close to the Eixample district. We'd originally booked to stay at the Sunotel Junior (joined to this hotel) but were given a surprise upgrade to the Aston meaning we had easier access to their pool and restaurant. The hotel was the perfect... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
