I booked this place out of pure desperation. My flight was already booked and I had to be in Barcelona on specific days, but everything was booked up this weekend because of a music festival and a soccer tournament. The first hing hat irritated me is how my first two nights were only around €80 and the last two were... More

After 5 years I returned to this hotel in April 2015 for another 10 days and I enjoyed every day of my stay. The front desk team is amazing; all of them speak English fluently which is important for me. Housekeeping did their work right and as expected, quietly, using very well the communication via “do not disturb /service request”... More

Nice hotel room but no tea or coffee facilities, but very nice and clean and in a quieter area of Barcelona which is a good point as it can be so noisy and busy. Close to Hospital metro stop. The roof top pool was dirty and slippery, so guessing it has not been cleaned in a while! The restuarant is... More

Everything you need when you spending most of your time out of the hotel. Amazing service staff. clean & comfortable guestrooms, free wifi, great breakfasts, jacuzzi, & swimming pool. Would like to thank the hotel team for making my stay in the city a memorable one. Gracias Sunotel Aston, Gracias de Barcelona.

We decided whilst in Spain to go see Barcelona play a home game, and booked an all in deal through Groupon. The hotel from the pictures looked ok but they must have been taken many years ago, as the hotel is in need of a refurbishment. Parking in the area proved a problem so we had no choice but to... We usually look for simple but smart hotels for our weekend breaks, but this place was a bit below the line. The location was fine, as there are plenty of reasonably-priced taxis around and the metro is not far. The area was not well served by restaurants (which was a problem as the hotel's restaurant was not great - see... More

This hotel was in a perfect location for sightseeing, just 5 minutes walk from the metro and within 2-5 stops of most tourist places to visit with plenty of coffee and cake places and places to eat between the hotel and the metro. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was basic no kettle but clean throughout, with the window shut... More

I stayed here for 5 nights with my younger sister. We took a taxi to the hotel and paid €31. All around we found it pretty good. Front desk staff were alright, good breakfast and decent sized room. Beds are okay and TV only shows one English channel but that's was fine since we weren't in Barcelona to watch TV.... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
