I chose the Hotel Marvi based purely on the location and reviews on here and I wasn't disappointed, however it's a real shame, because with just a little more thought, this hotel could be one of the best in Barcelona. I'll start negative and then finish on a high! My only real complaints were 1) it was constantly hot and... More

GETTING THERE: Aerobus from the airport (10 Euro return - 25 min journey) stops at Pca Universitat which is quite literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel; for the return it's a 10 min walk to Pca Catalunya as the bus doesn't pass Pca Universitat on the return. RECEPTION: Just a desk in a corridor but very helpful and... More

It's a nice hotel, very near to plaza Catalunya and The ramblas. The room was very spacious and very clean, also has a 24 hs reception. It's only a two star hotel, but in my opinion has a lot of features of a higher rank hotel, and the best thing about it , it's the location.

I stayed at the Hotel Marvi for business during a convention in Barcelona. The rooms are small and had an interesting smell to them. It was really a "no frills" type hotel from the time you check in until the time you leave. I did not care for the breakfast at all. You are much better off walking out on... More

Great Hotel and very good value for money in the center of Barcelona. La Rambla is just five minutes walk, and the metro station is right next to the place. The airport shuttle stops 200 meters from the hotel. Highly recommended!

Stayed at Marvi for 3 nights in September. Location is excellent with walking distance to most things. We even walked to La Sagrada and the park at the top of the hill. Moved there from a hostel which was very noisy, badly run and expensive, and we were able to check in early. Have read not so good reviews about... More

This small hotel was well situated in the centre of the City ( 5 minute walk from Catalunya Square) ). and offered a very warm welcome. Breakfast was optional and at 3 euro's was really good value and very enjoyable no bacon and eggs lol but nevertheless a good selection to get you going for the day. There is a... More

Me and my wife stayed at Marvi during our three night trip to Barcelona and we really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is perfectly located on the corner of Placa Universitat, right in front of metro station, and across the street from the airport shuttle bus stop. A short walk to Placa Catalunya and Ramblas, walking distance to the Cathedral, Barceloneta... More

This hotel is centrally located opposite to the universitat Metro and five minutes walk from catalonia plaza and Las Ramblas. Standard hotel. Breakfast is very limited. The counter people were not showing eagerness to guide the visitor.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
