This hotel has a great location, excellent services. The best thing I like is the rooftop restaurant on the top floor which you can have topview of the city while drinking and dining. Its so romantic!!

Apologies for the long review but I rely heavily on trip advisor reviews to choose accommodation because if you get it wrong it can ruin your stay! I chose this hotel after researching Barcelona hotels to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. The research paid off because I couldn't have chosen anywhere better. We even had a bottle... More

The rooms are ok and quiet but i think the rooftop-bar, the pools in the old wine-cellar and the position in the city centre are the real important things for this hotel. It is an old-school hotel with its patina but very clean, very friendly staff and new renovated bathrooms. We had a nice weekend there and i can recommend... More

Excellent location central to everything. We were upgraded to a superior room which was pleasant and comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly & helpful, especially a young girl that worked at the late bar, she was lovely and her English was exceptional! The pool area was really clean and relaxing, the terrace pool was nice too, but unfortunately the... More

Central to Las Ramblas and all the hustle and bustle that goes with it, the staff and design of the hotel made for a relaxing retreat. Really helpful team when our flight was delayed by 24 hours. Loved chilling out on the terrace, food excellent.

H1898 is a beautiful quiet retreat – right in the midst of the action of Las Ramblas in Barcelona. We stayed there recently and I highly recommend it. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the room was very quiet, it had an outside table and chairs in a small peaceful court yard, bedding was fabulous, bathroom had sparkling new clean... More

We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. Had room 407, very spacious with beautiful facilities including great towels, sheets, super comfy beds etc. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, a great range beautifully displayed. Being coeliac, I asked if they had gluten free bread for toast and was given freshly baked GF croissants and bread roll, delicious! Great location on... More

This is the 2nd time we have visited this hotel and city in the space of 6 months. We specifically came back to Barca because of this hotel. It meets every single need and requirement we have in terms of location, quality, amenities and feels totally opulent as well. The pool on the Terrace bar is great, and not as... More

The only negatives in this place are the slow bar service and the sewer smell in the room and other places. Rooms and lobby are nicely appointed and clean. All staff were very helpful. The location is great.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
