Mediterranean is a fun place where there's always something happening! Our first night here, we got down to watching Vicky Christina Barcelona (pardon the cliché) till 4 in the morning in the AV room, and there was still a crowd in the common room when we got out! The staff is very friendly, and the rooms well-maintained. All in all,... More

we had large private/apartment type room with ensuite. spacious bedroom and bathroom but shower cubicle tiny. clean, good housekeeping. lift available to our 6th floor level. location reasonable. easy access to metro. initially hard to find. locals not too helpful with assistance. maybe language barrier. we spoke no spanish and they spoke little english.

First of all, it's a clean hostel at a good location. I have to give them that. The staff I met was very friendly. I stayed in a private room with shared bathroom. I think the price was okay but for that price you get very very very thin walls. You can hear everything in the rooms next to you,... More

Clean, easy going, friendly hostel. Good place to meet people or to just chill out. Last minute planning ended up with a private room but there was enough going on in the lounge to meet people to hang with. Definitely recommended!

I can't recommend Mediterranean Hostel enough, I spent the last 3 days there and loved every second. You don't get many hostels that have their own chef every night (amazing food for 6 euros!), great communal space to meet people, close to supermarket, centre of Barcelona and the metro, staff were very helpful, special mention to Vinnie and Aluizio who... We had an ensuite room which is on the top floor. The lift, though a tight squeeze, was a great relief! Free tea & coffee was available 24hrs and cooking facilities were clean & well mantained. The staff were very helpful & the free walking tour was a great way to get to know the city. Very close to the... More

We had booked at double room at the hostel... the beds were terrible,, two nights of very bad sleep, and we could hear everything from the other rooms as well... at least the location was good and it was clean, internet was free.. will probably not go there again because of the beds..

I booked this hostel last minute and was really pleased. The staff were super nice, you get clean sheets on arrival, the bathrooms are clean, free lockers, free coffee and plenty of kitchen space to make food. Cleaning people come everyday. They provide 6 euro dinners and 13 euro bar crawls. As a solo traveler, it was great to take... More

If you don't mind hostels, this place is for you. Very friendly at all hours, a free walking tour every day at 1035, homemade dinner on the cheap at 6€ / night if you want, and a guide to a nearby disco if you want as well. VERY nice location too. 10 min walk from Plaça Catalunya, Casa Batllo, or... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
