Our stay was very pleasant. The hostel is located in the city center, a few minutes on foot from La Rambla and Placa Catalunya. It's hard to imagine a better location. The staff is kind and extremely helpful. The rooms are quite small, but they have private bathrooms, so it's not a big deal, especially that the price is low... More

Great location for an affordable price. Staff is really nice too. The rooms are not something outstanding, but in the end this is a fair place to spend the night. It is in one of those very narrow streets of Barcelona.

It is located in the city center. Many interesting sites as well as metro station are all within walking distance of the hostel. Our room was small and a little bit old style furbished but very very clean!! There is wifi for free at reception. I think it is a great option if you need a clean and cheap place... More

Perfect location but the rooms (and everything else :) in this hotel are tiny. It needs a bit of renovation as well but considering the price you pay it is a fare deal. The only thing we couldn't really tolerate is the noise. Not from the outside but from the rooms around you. Walls are so thin that it's difficult... More

The Hostal is generally a narrow building: tight stairs and tight elevator! We stayed in a double with private bathroom: the bedroom was small, tidy and very simply furnished. The room was daily cleaned and was supplied with towels. The staff was friendly and kind and the location was perfect, very close to the Universitat metro station. The wifi didn't... More

PLUS: Good location, close to coffee shops, restaurants and to the Subway. The closest station is Universitat. MINUS: The place looks scary, the hotel's condition is bad (remember the price)! That's why.. WiFi works only at the reception, very very small & old elevator (unbelievable), very small shower-corner... you can hear everything your neighbor says/does .. If you have bad... More

I didn't originally book at this hostal, I was transferred from another hostel (El-Puchi) as they couldn't keep my room due to delay in flight!! I was told that this is an upgrade as rooms have private shower (not bathroom), it turned out to be the only positive thing (if we can say), I was stuck with this one (thankfully... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
