Highly recommend the lovely "Musik Boutique Hotel"! What a great stay we had there. My husband and I decided to spend a couple of days in Barcelona. The decision was made last moment, so I quickly went on Internet and searched for a hotel. The Musik Boutique Hotel caught my eye. It looked very cute and romantic, its location seemed... More

We absolutely loved the Musik Boutique hotel. We stayed from Monday - Friday in July and initially did not book breakfast but we were offered a free breakfast for our first morning. It was great and we returned nearly every day - €10 for continental (croissants, meats, fruit, cereals) AND fried breakfast options. If you don't really know where to... More

Musik Boutique Hotel was a superb hotel for my first ever trip to Barcelona, and without my husband and youngest child! I stayed, with my younger daughter for three nights, in order to fly my eldest daughter home after a Spanish exchange (not in Barcelona). We decided to "make a weekend of it" and planned our trip on the internet,... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We felt welcomed from the very first moment of entering the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and I couldn't think of anything that was missing. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend some days in Barcelona and I'm sure... More

Good points - great central location, newly renovated and nicely decorated rooms, clean and nicely made up bathroom, comfortable beds, surprising breakfast for this level of hotel, great staff (in particular Elvis at reception). Not so good - no view (which didn't matter to me).

We stayed at the Musik Boutique Hotel for three nights during July. Location is excellent in the middle of Barri Gothic. Hotel itself was really clean and comfy. We got upgrated to Deluxe room with balcony. Breakfast was really fresh and tasteful and staff was helpful and polite. Definately worth its price!

Stayed 5 nights in a standard room. The room itself is just large enough, with a good sized bathroom, comfortable beds, and modern display. Breakfast is great. A good selection, from bacon to cereals. Fresh and tasty selection of fruit, and really great orange juice. The coffee is very good too. Perfect! Staff is overall friendly and easy to communicate... This a great hotel in a location that was perfect for us - right next to plenty of delicious restaurants and funky bars, shops, and even a laundromat down the road, and only a 10min walk from the famous Las Ramblas and Barcelonetta. The area is not too touristy even though it's right next to the Gothic Quarter. We stayed... More

We initially chose this hotel for a three night stay visitng relatives as it was very close to where they are living. It turned out to be a brilliant choice. Small and friendly, immaculately clean and fresh modern decor throughout. The room was of average size but very well fitted with adequate storage space, large flatscreen TV, good lighting and... Right from check in, this place just worked for us. It's our first visit to Barcelona and we loved it. The people, the city, the architecture, the beaches, the nightlife... I guess most people already know that about barcelona. The Musik Hotel was part of it for us too. The guys and girls on the front desk / bar were... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
