Close to everything. las Ramblas to the left and Passeig the Gracia to the right. There's also a metro a block away if you need to use it. The staff was nice and the rooms were spacious and clean. Only down side was the common area/ kitchen area closes at midnight and no one can hang out there after that!... More

PROS Good location CONS 1) The staff was not able to speak a word of Spanish. They couldn't help us in the majority of our problems. 2) According the website, there was a private Parking that actually doesn't exist. It's a public and really expensive one. 3) The pictures at the webpage are misleading: Dirty rooms; without air-conditioning (but we... More

although the staff mixed up our room numbers and sent us to the wrong rooms twice and the breakfast was a little small it was a lovely stay. The interior is beautiful and the bathrooms are very good. They offered us a safe where we could put our personal belongings while we explored the city. Very nice people!

The pictures on Hipstel's website are so misleading. But for $30/night, I guess this is what you have to be ready for. - I'll tell you the worst first: They were doing construction in our room all afternoon on 2 of the 3 days we were there. When I complained, they said there was nothing they could do, there were... More

Overall the experience was not awful, except that I stayed at the Hipstel in the middle of summer, and the a/c was broken, so we asked for a fan (we had to insist to someone borrow us one), that broke. Then a second fan was asked and it took 2 nights and some insistence until we got one. My room... More

I Had high expectations of this hostel given the reviews, rating (79%) and photos but i was definitely let down. On the plus side the hostel is in a pretty central location which is convenient. But thats about as good as it gets. The hostel rooms are pretty run down and the bathrooms are probably the worst ive experienced in... More

Positives - Free breakfast, free coffee machine, rooms are large and airy, close to the metro and train station, lots of activities run by the hostel, close to the main shopping street and a gaudi attraction. Negatives - bunk beds are close together (no room to sit up properly on the bottom bunk), no lockers big enough to put your... More

The Hipstel is anything but hip! The Hipstel was terrible! Service was extremely poor. It seemed that the staff were travelers who decided to stay in Barcelona. The only helpful staff member was Nadia. The restrooms on the first floor are absolutely disgusting! The floors flood when someone showers and it always had a funky smell in there. My girlfriend... The location is great, a very simple breakfast is included and there is a coffee machine that you can use at any time. The staff are not very friendly or knowledgeable about the sites in Barcelona, but they are generally able to tell you how to get around. It is dirty, and quite a party hostel so if you want... More

I was only there for 2 nights and stayed in a private room but found the hostel super trendy, funky and cool. There was always cool music playing in the common areas and the staff were all very friendly and having fun. Our beds were very comfy considering its a hostel - I had worse in some hotels through Europe!... More
