We stayed eight nights at Hotel Jazz while visiting Barcelona in late February. The hotel itself is a modern building of relatively recent construction. The rooms are attractive spacious rooms with very comfortable beds (2 twins or a King size). We were impressed by the soundproofing -- were on a low floor facing the street and basically all you get... More

Great hotel, excellent location. We stayed for 4 nights. I was a little dubious given it was 3 star but the location looked ideal. This hotel far exceeds its 3 star rating, I would put it more at a 4*+. The rooms were spacious, clean, fresh, modern and with the luxury of a bath & shower & a good range... More

Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice but somewhat expensive breakfast buffet (no discount available for multiple days). Clean and comfortable rooms. Big rooftop terrace with swimming pool and a beautiful view. Fantastic location right next to Placa Catalunya with access to metro and airport buses. Asked for a quiet room and got a room at an upper floor facing the... More

Great hotel in a perfect location for visiting/sightseeing Barcelona. Very clean, spacious bedrooms, friendly staff, good, varied breakfast and a lovely roof top pool (not that we used it in February!). Would definitely stay again.

Great location - fantastic, comfortable larger-than-expected corner suite/room, and everywhere beautifully clean. The breakfast choices are only ok, nothing special - but everything else about the place is top notch...from a friendly efficient reception to the roof-top terrace and pool. We will go back to Barcelona, and would stay at this hotel again.

I've stayed in Barcelona 6 times and for combination of value and comfort this is by far my favourite. Rooms were lovely with nice view of Barcelona streets. Location was perfect, just up for plaza catalunya. The best part was the rooftop pool which was perfect for chilling on our last day. Would 100% recommend!

Stayed at the Hotel Jazz for four nights in mid-February 2015. Recommend very highly. Would be very happy to stay there again. Central, but quiet, clean, modern. Comfortable bed, excellent buffet breakfast, friendly staff. Good wi-fi reception. Only negative was lack of English language TV channels.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
