First visit to Barcelona and booked Hotel Jazz on a recommendation. Glad we did as we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The room, a corner suite (two adults, one child), was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Some people have commented on the firmness of the beds - yes, they are firm, but that's exactly how I like my beds! Despite being... More

We stayed at the Jazz and I have to say it was an excellent choice. It is a clean smooth operation. If I had any criticisms it would be that the place lacked a soul. It is one of those hotels where everything is clean and modern, shiney surfaces, plain walls. Modern and efficient. Room was a good size and... More

Great location, decent sized rooms although very dark and gloomy inside. Beds are quite hard and the bathroom shower temperature is a bit hit and miss. Sound insulation is poor. Breakfast ok, nothing special.

Top location. Room was reasonably large, excellent bed, chairs were less comfortable. If you get a room overlooking the street, there is some noise, but not enough to disturb my sleep. Reception and service worked well. Breakfast was sufficient but not overwhelming. Plenty of seats. The hotel bar, on the first floor, was always empty, there must be something wrong... More

A mature couple on our first extended visit to Barcelona (6 nights), we stayed the full time at Hotel Jazz and were quite happy with it. Recent thorough remodel is apparent. compfortable bed and bath. Our seventh floor room was on the side away from the street, allowing us to keep our window open at night; I can't vouch for... More

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of March on a bed and breakfast basis. Arrived via the Airport Bus which stops close by at the Universitat stop, just cross the square and you can see the hotel. Very basic modern reception area with just a small seating area, lifts and toilets. No problem with this as reception staff... More

Stayed here this week and I can honestly say it's the perfect location for a city break. Right in the heart of the city, you can walk to all the main highlights easily. Rooms are big with bath, mini-bar (room for your own drinks too!) and lots of extras like shaving kit, toothbrushes, etc. The only thing you don't get... More

This property was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I listened. Hotel Jazz is very close to the main plaza, just a short walk to Las Rambles. The hotel is pleasant, quiet and very comfortable. Good size room and bath room kept very clean by the friendly staff. Breakfasts are great to with a good choice.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
