First of all, I wish people would stop being so picky. This hotel wasn't very expensive, and for what we got, it was well worth the money. Primarily, the location is perfect, Las Ramblas is just outside the door and La Boqueria Market is about a 5 minute walk up the road (a definite must). When we arrived, the staff... More

My fiancé and I stayed at the hotel as part of a city break, and found the hotel to be excellently located and very close to the main strip. Only issues we really had were that the air con was quite poor and in the midst of a mini heatwave in Barcelona it was not ideal and that our 'view'... More

Location - in terms of proximity to las ramblas/beach/restaurants the hotel is in a good location, however at night the street is VERY loud (we were woken up every hour with drunk people on the street shouting), and you feel unsafe walking down the street in the evening as people approach you trying to 'sell' things. Room - VERY small... More

This hotel is right off La Rambla on a side street that looks a bit sketchy but very well lit at night and perfectly safe. It is also minutes away from La Boqueria market and the the Port. The hotel has a modern ikea type decor and it is very clean. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. They let... More

Location of the hotel is quite ok. Breakfast offer was cheap in price but also bad in selecting. Room layout was quite discussing for a group of friends as it offers no privacy. U can hear every noise and if u leave the shower u r standing in the middle of the sleeping room, so u can't dress up privately.... More

Looking for disabled facilities and found all that you could wish for. Together with good staff who went the extra distance it became a great break in a fascinating city. The hotel is next to La Rambla and only a short walk to the marina and docks. The beach is a further 15/20 Minutes but well worth the small effort... More

OK, yeah, the staff at the Hotel Barcelona House are slightly impersonal, whatever, they‘re at work, I’m not. City tax, alright. The lobby reeks of cheap men’s cologne, at all hours - noted throughout our three night stay - I think they pump the aroma in to create an ambient scent experience of a cheap disco. Adding to the sensation,... More

Right at the midpoint of the Ramblas, within walking to all the restaurants and shopping. Room was modern and clean. Helpful front desk staff with moderate English. There were a couple times where they didn't understand our questions. This is the 3rd hotel I've stayed in Barcelona and the best so far.

Stayed here last week for a few days and didn't really rate the place. So the good points first.. Location is great, right next to the ramblas, the bed is nice and comfy and it's cheapish. On the downside there were building works going on in the hotel everyday, which started really early, they only hand out 1card per room... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
