Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the twin room. It was comfy and clean and nice to have our own loo. Great central location close to all the major tourist attractions and A little further to find cheaper food options but easy to walk everywhere.

Nice place if you want a cheap stay in Barcelona. Close to the city center and only a 10 minutes walk to the subway. Moreover I realy enjoyed the Free Hostel Walking Tour which is offered every day! :) All in all it was worth the money! Only the bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner and the lady,... More

Super friendly and helpful staff. Clean, tidy, and secure rooms. Amazing, convenient location (near the Placa de Catalunya metro stations, and being a block away from the Cathedral meant you could easily use those signs whenever you get lost). Not a party hostel. Mix of traveling 20-somethings, artists, writers, and retirees. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic people and place! Close to everything you could ever want or need in Barcelona. Las Ramblas (main shopping/restuarant strip) is 2 streets away so getting food and shopping is easy. The metro is close as well and that will take you close to every tourist spot you need to go to.

Beautiful little hostel in the heart of Barcelona, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The hostel is quiet and relaxed, there is everything you need and it is very clean. The location is perfect, in the gothic quarter, close to all major sights and public transport. Definitely recommended.

Probably the friendliest staff I've ever met at any kind of lodging (including multiple star hotels). Also the most considerate roommates I've had in a hostel. Great location, a 5-minute walk from the Aerobus stop at Placa Catalunya. On the downside, I couldn't figure out how to set hot water temperature, it was either super hot or super cold.

Itaca hostel No.s 1 and 2 beds in red 6 bed dorm squeek. No support rail under bed slats. Staff very friendly. Could use more bathrooms (toilets). There is a urinal and 1 toilet for men. Two toilets for women. Hot water is there but can take awhile if no one else has used any recently. The door to the... More

The hostel was extremely easy to find and very convenient since it is less than a 10 minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya (the place where you get the Aerobus to/from the airport). The hostel was clean, the bed was comfy people at reception were friendly and the price was right. Overall a positive experience.

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
