Great location. Absolutely love the Born district and this little boutique hotel is a little gem. Rooms are light, airy and clean. Super comfy bed. Only negative is that the walls are rather thin, which if you have noisy neighbours can be a little annoying. We didn't eat at the hotel. We had breakfast at a little cafe about 30seconds... More

We booked this hotel for New Year 2014/2015 early -probably 10 months ahead. We decided to go to Barcelona for new year for the first time, & wanted to be very centrally located. As Banys is in the Born, it was perfect. We looked carefully on the website & booked a suite. The hotel were very helpful prior to our... More

The hotel is in the heart of the Barrio Gotico, its position couldn't be better. Adjacent to the tube station, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants nearby, very close to museums and attractions, 10 minutes walk from the seaside. The position is worth the price but: - the rooms were not really well-cleaned - probably because the floor is black the... More

Great location, good restaurants and bars in immediate vicinity. The suite we stayed in was approx. 300/400 metres from hotel, so rather inconvenient when trying to sort out the odd issue that invariably arises. Tea, coffee and water provided at outset but not replaced during our 4 night stay. Keys to the building were a poor fit, and a considerable... More

My husband and I stayed here for several nights recently. The location - in the heart of Barri Gotic was excellent. We were close to great restaurants, really interesting shops and the people were very friendly. The room was on the smaller side but more than adequate with a desk for working and really good internet for what seemed like... More

Nice staff, really nice restaurant downstairs and good service overall. The rooms seem to vary so perhaps ask to look at the room before taking it. It is in a great location near the Born neighbourhood and near the Cathedral and a one-minute walk from the nearest metro Jaime. Recommend to get lost in the nearby streets - lots of... More

This little boutique hotel is tucked away in a nice area in El Born with several restaurants and sights within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Banys Orientals. The last time we visited Barcelona, we chose our hotel poorly and did not love our stay. This time was so different. The rooms at Banys Oriental are spacious by European standards and exceptionally clean. The front desk staff was helpful and gave great recommendations on restaurants and activities. A bonus is that... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
