My husband and I stayed here for several nights recently. The location - in the heart of Barri Gotic was excellent. We were close to great restaurants, really interesting shops and the people were very friendly. The room was on the smaller side but more than adequate with a desk for working and really good internet for what seemed like... More

Nice staff, really nice restaurant downstairs and good service overall. The rooms seem to vary so perhaps ask to look at the room before taking it. It is in a great location near the Born neighbourhood and near the Cathedral and a one-minute walk from the nearest metro Jaime. Recommend to get lost in the nearby streets - lots of... More

This little boutique hotel is tucked away in a nice area in El Born with several restaurants and sights within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Banys Orientals. The last time we visited Barcelona, we chose our hotel poorly and did not love our stay. This time was so different. The rooms at Banys Oriental are spacious by European standards and exceptionally clean. The front desk staff was helpful and gave great recommendations on restaurants and activities. A bonus is that... More

We booked this hotel on recommendation from a friend and chose a suite to treat ourselves on the last few nights of our Spanish holiday. We were not aware that the suites were in another building about 5 minutes walk away but this had both its positives and negatives. We did feel that we were staying in an apartment rather... More

We stayed here recently for six nights in a second floor "suite" in a building about 20 metres from the main hotel building. We were aware that this hotel was graded as three star and have done our best to take this grading into account when preparing this review. The Positives: - the location could not be better - ideal... More

Great location for this very nice hotel. Bored of staying in hotel where all rooms are the same? Then this is a nice alternative. Rooms vary so ask to see the room before deciding. Friendly and helpful staff. Plus for free child water bottles and fruit for guests.

The hotel has a great location in a pedestrian street, and close to "everything". Wonderful narrow alleys and also close to both the Barcelona cathedral and the Eglise Santa Maria del Mar. The hotel is easy to miss when walking by. This is a boutique hotel. Very tiny and cramped reception area and hallways. Check in went smooth. I had... More

I do wish I could give this hotel a better rating. Very strange, our room was nice and clean and we had French doors that opened over a pedestrian street. The problem was once you stepped into the bath it seemed it did not belong to the same place. It was very dark, the tile in the shower looked like... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
