My husband and I were looking for a small, quiet hotel for our stay after our cruise. We were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were greated by Catlilla, who was most helpful and friendly. I had requested a quiet room and were given room 402, top floor rear of the hotel. The room was small, but adequate. The bathroom was... More

I had a great week end in Barcelona and enjoyed a stay at the Bany Orientals. It is placed in the Born, one of the nicest spots in Barna and conveniently located to walk to downtown as well as to the Barceloneta; the barrio Gotico and the Rambla are just a 10min walk away. Deco is a nice mix of... More

When choosing accomodation in a city like Barcelona, location is truly the most important thing. Banys is situated in the heart of El Born with all its restaurants, bars and narrow alleyways. Both the beach and The Rambla are within walking distance, and Banys makes an excellent base for exploring the city. The metro station is less than 100 m... More

We stayed here after adding a couple of extra nights in Barcelona after I broke my foot in Marrakech, and we stayed in a wheelchair accessible room on the restaurant floor -- room 100. So my take on the hotel maybe different from the average visitor's. Our room was huge, as was the bathroom. There was free and replenished waters... More

We were a party of 3, and were allocated a suit room for another building, which was 2.5 minutes walk from the main building. The building is more like an apartment for local residents, no sign of the hotel, so I believe the building is shared by owners of each property. The room was spacious (Room 33C), clean and comfy,... In the heart of El Born district and nearby Gothic district this small boutique hotel seems to rely and surf on positive critics of the past from CN Traveler mag. Rooms are very small, even those with a window in front of the hotel, A refreshing job ( paint ) would be welcome. But room prices were reasonable for the... More

The location is basically all you are paying for here. The room was soooo small, no natural light & the bed was really uncomfortable. The bathroom & toilet were claustrophobic. So overall really resented paying what we paid to stay here. However Barcelona is not a cheap place so maybe this was the best we could hope for without spending... More

We have made many trips to wonderful Barcelona over the years and one of our favourite spots is El Borne for sure! We have stayed in many different apartments and hotels in town and decided this time to try Banys Orientals because the outside looks so great. It started with a disappointing 'surprise' after we made the reservation. We received... More

The hotel is not cheap compared to the size of the rooms, however the location is wonderful with many of the major sights and shopping/entertainment areas within easy reach by foot. Also there is a metro station not far away. The room itself is not bad, a bit small and the view (at least from my room) is the wall... More

The hotel has two buildings, one on a main street and one ~2 min walk away. We stayed in a suite at the second building. The room was spacious and comfortable. The price for the suite is a bit more, but I recommend it rather than staying in the main hotel where the rooms are a bit smaller. Good location... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
