Stayed here for 2 nights before and after a cruise. Room pretty basic but clean and comfortable. Great location, short walk to La Rambla, restaurants, shopping close by. Hotel staff very helpful, excellent full breakfast included, reasonable rates. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Spent two nights here this month the hotel is very clean and staff are lovely. The only down side to this hotel is the area there is graffiti everywhere!! But the street cleaners where working round the clock trying to keep the place tidy.

My friend and I visited Barcelona 2/4-5/4/2015 We chose the ABBA Rambla Hotel. We chose well since we got the best service ever especially from Sergi and Susana. They gave us the nicest welcoming and we felt so great there thanks to their friendly and professional service. They are definately a treasure for any hotel in the world (and it's... More

I stayed in this hotel for three nights and was pleasantly suprised. We had a room facing the Rambla del Raval and enjoyed absoloutely noiseless nights thanks to the soundproofed windows. This neighbourhood has been seriously rehabilitated and feels as safe as anywhere else in the city. A 10 min walk from the Ramblas and the Barrio Gotico, it is... More

Well sited hotel set in a square full of palm trees and green Parrots, just off the tourist beaten track! We had a party of 4 rooms, so this gives a better understanding of the hotel, as not based on one room. It only serves breaks which is OK from the continental point of view, but the cooked egg and... Stayed here for a short break (three nights) in March. We had a pleasant room with twin beds overlooking the Rambla del Reval. Good room with comfortable beds, nice bathroom, good WiFi signal (free) and a nice view of the Rambla from a Juliette balcony. Room has a safe which is free to use with your own combination number. There's... More

The Abba Rambla is about 5 minutes from the famous La Rambla. The room was like a nice Travelodge with a decent bathroom but you are hardly in your room if you're out sight seeing for the day so it didn't matter much to us. The breakfast is lovely and plentiful. The hotel staff are very helpful and can't do... More

The hotel is relatively low cost for Barcelona town centre, however a local informed us to keep an eye on our possessions and walking around it is obviously not the best area in town. That said there are some excellent restaurants within easy walking distance (go see the Ramblas but eat elsewhere). The town is making efforts to pull the... More

We booked this hotel as it has easy access to Rambla and the Old City without the higher cost or noise associated with properties in those areas. Local tour operators did not consider this hotel to be in a good area but we never had a problem despite walking everywhere including past midnight. The rooms had everything we needed. It... More

We booked the hotel because it was close to the city center and because of the discount offered. It was freezing cold there when we arrived. We thought that our 4-year old son would catch a cold right away (and so he did). The personel of the hotel told us that they had some problems with the heating system and... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
