My partner and I stayed here 19th July- 22nd July. I have to say I am finding it hard to fault one thing about this hotel. From the moment we arrived- friendly reception staff and extremely helpful. Hotel very much lives up to its 4 star award- spotlessly clean (our rooms cleaned everyday!!) to a very high standard may i... More

My partner and I stayed here for 7 nights and can not fault it. The hotel is now one of my favourite hotels I have stayed in. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. The bar man Fran in particular, who took time out to go through a map of Barcelona with us and gave us great advice. We... More

Two things strike me about the reviews written about this hotel. One review states that this is purely a business hotel......RUBBISH!! If you call floating in a roof top pool then sun bathing on comfortable sun loungers as soft atmospheric music gently plays over the speakers and then the waiter brings you your pitcher of Sangria to enjoy as you... Showed up to the hotel for check in, they let us know "the hotel was having issues" and there wasnt any room available for us to stay in. The room was booked well in advance, and there was no notification about a change in our stay. It was upsetting to say the least, they set us up at a different... More

Very helpful reception and good facilities in hotel. Room with terrace quite small but well equipped. Very well placed for local restaurants and shopping as well as access to buses and metro. Best to book major attractions through hotel reception including hop on/off buses. Breakfast very good and plenty of choice.

We booked a terrace room for one night. The terrace is fantastic with lots of outside space. Rooms are spacious with BIG comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful during our short stay. We didn't dine in the hotel or have breakfast in the morning so can't comment on those things. The rooftop terrace is... More

Fantastic stay. Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. Rooftop pool and bar is great! Location has great restaurants and bars nearby. Staff eager to help in lobby. Downstairs bar (open after 10pm) has good selection and bartender eager to provide a good excuse experience.

I've stayed in many hotels and I can tell you that this hotel was absolutely not 4 star worthy. There was no running water during 16.00-18.00 and when we did turn on the water, it was dark yellow/brown. This was absolutely disgusting! Furthermore, the bedrooms were a lot smaller than shown on the pictures: you could barely walk around the... More

It was really unfortunate that my wonderful vacation in Spain was tarnished by the last two days at this hotel. This is a business hotel and only caters to such traveller. If you are a leisure guest, due yourself a favor and book elsewhere. Everything went wrong right after check in. The gentleman at the front desk could not be... More

I shan't bore with my business in Barcelona. The room was clean, the decor was appealing, and a comfier bed I have yet to find, as well as the bonus of having a cool swimming-pool-fishtank on the roof, however the catalonia eixample 1864 has it's flaws. The mirror was marked strangely, the skirting board was scuffed and ripping from the... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
