On 29.11.2014 three of us stayed for a weekend break at `The Old Town Apartments’ Barcelona unfortunately, the break was booked through Thomas Cook – NEVER AGAIN! Thomas Cook failed to supply the correct transfer name from the airport, resulting in us waiting for a taxi firm that no longer existed under the name provided and then we had to... More

Thanks to the previous tips of TripAdvisor contributors, our process of entry was pleasant, even if it is our first time to Barcelona. Knowing that the published address is just the main office (not the actual apartment), because we were a group of 4, we took a taxi from the airport to the main office and asked the taxi to... More

THE APARTMENT IS NOT IN OLD TOWN!!! Only the offices are there, our flat was some 20 min walking away. Several items broken: couch, chair, ventilators in bathrooms, boiler in the kitchen. Bedlinen dirty and with holes. No cleaning, no bedlinen changes, no towels changes in 8 nights staying despite their promises!!! Furniture generally of very poor quality. The general... More

Apartment booked with a cruise and stay holiday. Dropped off at what was actually the office, given small map and keys and told it was 15 minutes walk away, which is bad enough in the heat and all our luggage, but it actually took us 40 minutes. Arrived at the apartment which was on the fourth floor and the lift... More

I expected a basic apartment in a good location but probably a bit noisy. What we got was the great location, the noise which we expected, a bigger than expected apartment but unfortunately no one had cleaned or paid any attention to the upkeep of the place for some time. It was dirty, and many of the basics you would... More

If you are looking for a property in the middle of the gothic quarter, this is probably the best appartment to stay. Only a few minutes form restaurants, places and THE life of Barcelona… The owner is very friendly and we enjoyed staying there. Everything worked perfect. Next time we will book again!

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, room enough for a family of 3. Few steps away from Plaza Catalunya, 5 minutes walk to Rambla, access directly with train- the train and subway station are the same- Paseo di Gracia- nice and elegant terraces near, with good food and fair prices. Highly reccomended.

But was clean with thoughtful décor....we were in Barcelona from Monday to Friday and it was a relatively last minute booking and we were limited to funds so on that basis this place was ideal. We stayed at the 6th floor apartment 1bis at 266 Carrer del Rosello which I must say was in an excellent location for out trips... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
