I didn't book anywhere in advance and found this place by chance. It was affordable and in a great location next to Las Ramblas. The lady on the desk was sweet and very helpful. I had to stay in 2 separate rooms as that's all they had. The first was in the road side and you could hear the traffic... More

The host came across as extremely sweet when we were checking in but very quickly changed. She got very short tempered, demanding and a little bit rude. We were first told we had to pay in cash, my boyfriend was shouted at for leaving the door open. We changed rooms the second night and took our used towels with us... More

The location is superb, just few steps from Universitat metro station. The airport buses also stop pretty close (so it was perfect for us needing to catch an early flight). Rooms are pretty tiny but it was adequate for one night. There are only 2 bathrooms (1 men & 1 women) but it wasn't a problem since the place only... More

In short: a very small outdated "Hostel" that was clean and in a good location but did not have a good hostel feel about it. This accommodation consists of four rooms, no lounge/sitting area or kitchen and has two tiny bathrooms (one mens and one ladies). There is free wifi that is horrible! We had to walk out to the... This is a typical older hostal for Barcelona. Don't expect too much. We made an early reservation using our credit card for a en-suite room but when we got there the receptionist said it was overbooked and she only had one room left with a small balcony (#4 in the residencia on Ronda de Universidad). The room was very small... More

Much depends on the room you get (but not necessarily the one you contract). Rooms 1, 4 & ?room are larger. Room 1 is the only one with private bath. Rooms 2 & 3 are 1/2 of an original room and very, very small for two people. The two hall baths (m/w) are small but sufficient. The bed in room... More

I believe the accommodation has rooms all over the immediate vicinity. I was given a room in No 23 (the residencia is no 11). I was taken there by the receptionist, a very pleasant young lady of Asian origin. She gave me the choice of 2 rooms as I had booked a private bathroom. One was larger that the other... More

We stayed for one night at the end of July and it was fine for our needs. The location really is great, right in the city center and near a metro station. The room itself was very rundown and VERY noisy. The sink and fridge were helpful, but the beds and noise made it a little rough. However, it was... More

This hostal is in a perfect location in the centre of Barcelona. After climbing three floors up the stairs we were told that this is the first floor : ) !? So I think the hostal is actually on the 6th or 7th floor. Good receptionist. The hostal was very quiet and room ok, except the bed, that was quite... More

All the rooms in this old run down hostel face the street which has continues traffic noise. If this doesnt keep you awake then the water pump system which each room has definitely will. every time someone in the hostel uses the water a loud pump starts up in each room! Rooms are tiny and old but the staff is... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
