Great location and very friendly front desk staff. The room was clean and well appointed but was very small with full length glass windows which only faced a tiny central courtyard so you had to keep your curtains closed at all times for privacy. The bathroom was very tiny & it was very difficult to manoeuvre around the loo to... More

Good location, near 2 metro stops and the magic fountain. We took the aerobus from the airport and the stop was an easy walk to the hotel. The hotel is modern and the rooms are small but nice. The wifi worked great in the lobby but hardly functioned in our room. The front desk was very helpful.

Good location of the hotel and close to metro and other sights but the rooms have few lights and its hard to read maps and books to plan your tour around Barcelona. The beds are also really short, I'm 5'10 and my feet hang over on very narrow single beds. We had an inside room and you can't darken the... More

I stayed 4 nights at hotel Vilamari. Unfortuntaley the bed is rather small (1.90m) which is too short for taller persons. A hotel bed should be at least 2 meters nowadays! I complained about this, but the reply was that all the beds have comparable lengths except 1 room which was already occupied. The matras was also uncomfortable (hard and... More

This is a modern hotel located in a great location for exploring Barcelona. Within easy walking distance to the Metro, Plaza de Espanya, a major shopping mall, restaurants, Hop-on, Hop-off tour bus stop, the Olympic Village and the magic fountain. The reception staff are very friendly, speak good English and go out of their way to help you. The room... More

The best thing about Hotel Vilamari BCN are the front desk staffs, especially Ms Silvia. She's friendly and ever so helpful with providing information. Room was alright, not the largest but alright. There was no water-heating flask when I arrive but after informing front desk, they immediately delivered one to the room.

I have stayed in this hotel twice - in July 2013 and in July 2014 for the summer holidays. It has a very good location, the metro station "Rocafort" is in about 5-7 minutes. The famous fontain Montjuïc is about 20 minutes from the hotel. The street is rather bustling but for me it was not a problem for good... More

The hotel occupies an excellent position near Plaza Espana. From the airport, bus A1 or A2 will make its first stop at Plaza Espana, and then you will be at the hotel after a five minute walk. Location is in a side road, so no particular traffic noise at the hotel's front. Rear rooms are very peaceful. Some rooms at... More

The hotel is located near to the center of Barcelona and is conveniently reached from the airport. Good connections to public transportation nearby. Taxis are also available quickly. Rooms are rather small but clean. Bathrooms well equipped with paraphenalia like toothbrushes, shaver etc. In my bathroom the stopper for the tub was missing, so only showers were possible. The room... More

Me and my wife spent 5 nights in this hotel. I highly recomment it. Rooms well sized, very clean, comfortable beds. Location is close to centre...some 20 minutes walk from Placa Catalunya !! Breakfast had a variety of choice and well presented too. Receptionists and staff were very helpful. Thank you all for a wonderful stay at your hotel.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
