The location of this place is absolutely fantastic! Right on a bustling, vibrant square and just off Las Ramblas - it's easy walking distance to the beach/port area and also Place De Catalunya where you can get public transport and hoho buses. Yes, the rooms are very basic but are spotlessly clean and you get maid service daily. Reception staff... More

Stayed here with 2 adults and 2 kids for 4 nights in April 2015 and paid £315 for 4 nights via booking.com. It is basic, including antique lift Hotel but clean, comfortable beds and a superb location. We had a room with a small balcony and view over the lively square where you can sit and watch the world go... More

I stayed in this hotel whilst on a school trip and as my friends will agree we would have much rather payed extra to stay somewhere nicer. This hotel is definitely basic, just about has what you need although our shower didn't work which was an absolute nightmare. Mirror was scratched and we believe that it has been like that... More

this hotel is a great find. Perfect location in the heart of Barcelona. It was extremely clean. The staff were polite. No frills but a great place for a short breaK.. Close to las ramblas, the marina as well near to gaudi architecture and the wonderful gothic cathedral.

We have just returned from 3 nights here. It is basic but what do you expect for the price. There were a lot of students staying when we were here and you could hear them now and again in the corridors. However I am a very light sleeper and I was not woken by this. Rooms are basic but clean... More

I have just got back from a trip to Barcelona, what a great City. We stayed at Roma Reial Hotel, what a great location just off Las Ramblas, in a lovely Square. Very basic, but clean but it was cheap too. Breakfast was fine. I would definitely recommend it. We had a great time.

We only stayed for three nights. A very basic hotel. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Which for me is a must. Hairdryers can be obtained from reception. Ideally situated in a beautiful square just off las ramblas. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very basic but extremely clean with towels changed... More

The hotel is really in center town, rooms are little and clean but very noisy interior and exterior. You can ear your neighbours very well !!! Plaza Real is really noisy all night: at the beginning people are drinking, after they are eating, after they are dancing and at last they are singuing and in the morning town people are... More

Everything good! Incredible location and I expected a worse hotel. Good bathroom, good bed. Not a great breakfast but that's not important! I suggest you this hotel if you want to stay in the center without spending a lot

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
