Nice reception area with a bar and breakfast room down stairs. There is a lift to the rooms. Nice touch was a welcome drink in the bar. All the usual room facilities & they are a good size, very clean & well lit. Big comfortable bed, pillows a bit hard. Window doors onto Juliet balcony so easy to ventilate. Room... More

Location was good, breakfast was good, staff was friendly. Surrounding of the hotel was nice and it was nice just walking around. We were a little bit surprised that four times some of the servants was coming to out room. They knocked but didn't wait for answer. Two times some man was coming to clean balcony in a few minutes,... More

The hotel is located in a quiet street close to a park and to all major attractions of the historical center of Barcelona, with a metro stop really close to go everywhere. The service was attentive but the reception service could have been quicker indeed. The room was small but comfortable and quiet (2nd floor). Breakfast was too expensive, especially... More

I was in Barcelona for business and knew beforehand I'll have very long days. I truly enjoyed my stay in this hotel although I unfortunately spent too little time over there. When arriving, I regretted a little that I had to wait long for being checked in (same for others who were there) because there was only one person. At... More

My other half booked this hotel as part of a surprise trip and the hotel didn't disappoint. The previous reviews definitely helped him make the decision. The hotel is about 10 -15 minute walk from la ramblas and several other sights. The hotel rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and there are plenty of little touches including robes and slippers,... More

Although the location was convenient, we weren't impressed with this hotel. The reception area seemed nice enough and I can't judge any other facilities as we didn't use them, but there were several problems with our room. We found a cockroach one night, there was a large stain on the ceiling (probably from damp) and the shower didn't drain properly.... More

The hotel is in an excellent location in the El Born area. The hotel itself is a lovely old building which has had extensive modernisation and is very well maintained. The staff are fantastic, helpful and friendly. Deborah was particularly helpful and efficient and dealt with a small concern promptly. The hotel Wi-Fi is super fast and was available with... More

Just spent three nights at this hotel on a short break to BCN. I'd walked through the El Born area two years ago and decided to stay here on my next visit. It's an old part of town with nice shops and restaurants and is just ten minutes' walk from barrio gotico (cathedral) and Plaza Catalunya. It's also just two... More

I just stayed here last weekend and did not enjoy my stay. I didn't actually choose this hotel my friend did but she didn't enjoy her stay either. The staff is friendly enough my issues were with the rooms. My room smelled like stale cigarette smoke it was gross. The shower leaked all around so there would be a puddle... More

Booked this hotel because of location convenient for Gothic Quarter and clean modern look. Staff very welcoming and helpful, all speaking excellent English. Rooms well equipped, clean and good amount of space. Plenty of restaurants and bars close and since it's in a residential area as many locals as tourists will be eating there. Very good gastro pub immediately opposite hotel... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
