The location is the main selling point of this hotel - the best area for Barcelona with quick and easy access to the city's top sights, and a short walk to the best bars and restaurants. The staff are mainly pleasant and efficient, we found the first room we were in too hot as the air-con didn't really work (only... More

Not helpful front desk at all, I asked if we could have food on the roof by the pool they said yes we went up there (wasn't so inviting) and couldn't find the food, then after I went back down to ask about it, I waited 15 minutes while all three employees helped one man, asked about the food and... The last thing that you want to feel when you go on holiday is that you are just another number in the hotel. This is how I felt I was being treated by the staff of the hotel. The hotel is average and did not correspond to my expectations. The pool is so small and clearly made to improve the... More

Born district in the old Barcelona is a perfect place as a brace to explore Barcelona. It has great restaurants, bars, shopping and you are surrounded by beautiful old buildings. The beach is 15 minutes walk and no shortage of public transport options. Highly recommended.

On our approach to the hotel in the taxi I started feeling a bit uneasy at the state of the narrow streets as they appeared rather dirty and seedy. We were 4 couples and had arrived at 10am after arriving in Barcelona from a cruise ship. The receptionist managed to find us a room and we were able to freshen... More

This hotel is very nice and in a great location. It is a little tricky to find at first. Luckily - we had a knowledgeable driver pick us up at the airports. (Many taxi drivers may have some trouble -- tell them to go to the Arc de Triumf as it is across the street.) The room was clean and... More

We stayed 4 nights and can't really fault anything. The hotel itself is very modern inside and the decor is really good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a good size with a fully stocked mini bar. The breakfast buffet is excellent, normally 16 euros but on special at 10 euros. Wifi was the best I... More

stayed 4 nights in this hotel in the suite room, was a fantastic room we even got a nice bottle of Cava as a welcome arrival and also 2 welcome drinks. The bedroom is big enough, as two level, the living room downstairs and the bedroom with the bathroom upstairs. The suite has also a private balcony. The hotel is... More

First time visit to Barcelona. Stayed 3 nights at Catalonian Born. The hotel is in a great location. I had read reviews on Trip Advisor so was not sure what the hotel would be like but I was pleasantly surprised. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was modern, spacious, clean, the beds were comfortable and it was very... More

This is a nice hotel that is close to the Picasso Museum, Barcoloneta, Sagrada Familia, and tapas. We stayed for 5 days and walked everywhere. It's easy to reach from the aerobus and 2 stops on the Metro. The room is big enough and clean. After a run or walk in the city, we took a dip in the rooftop... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
