The double room that we had was really small (although they were mentioning that it was 15 square meters big). They have asked us to pay the first minute we arrived there, with the bags on our hands. When we said that we were not aware of this (booking.com send us confirmation that we will be asked to pay DURING... More

Great hotel located near the Arc de Triomphe (one block away)and minutes away from the Gothic area and Hop On/Hop Off tour stop. Definitely a safe place to stay. 5€ or so taxi to Las Ramblas and shopping area. Hotel staff all spoke English and were unbelievably helpful booking tours, suggesting restaurants and advising us what to do and where... More

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found it to be very clean, quiet and conveniently located. The room was well equipped, clean and basic. The view was of the street below. Not great but not awful. The hotel is fairly central and close to the metro links. We rarely used metro links and taxis and actually just walked... More

We stayed eight nights in this hotel and I think we made the best decision. The hotel is so well located, within walkiing distance to subway and train stations, However, you would rarely need to use the subway since everything is walking distance, 20 mins max to the beach. It´s surrounded by many nice restaurants for every budgets, museums, grocery... More

Excellent location for the metro and getting around by foot, friendly and efficient welcome including a drink. The area would appear to be the subject of a regeneration programme which makes for a good atmosphere with independent bars, restaurants and shops. Rooms very clean and the bed was almost too comfortable...

First - we unfortunately ended up in a disgusting Air BnB that was not at all like the photos. After a horrible sticky hot night, called Catalonia Born and amazing Deborah put everything in motion for our group of four. We were very impressed when we walked in the door covered in sweat from the B&B. Deborah greeted us with... More

We have just spent two nights at this delightful hotel. Situated near the Arc de Triomf and convenient for tour buses and other sights. We enjoyed strolling the nearby lovely narrow old streets and found some great restaurants and shops. The rooms were a good size and very clean and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will... More

The staff were so helpful and warm - The lady who served us (Deborah) made as feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. We also got a free drink voucher for the bar - the cava was lovely! The room was super... More

Location: right besides the arc de triomf. In a lively part of Barcelona which doesnt feel invaded by tourists. Within walking distance of Sagrada Familia, Passeo Gracia and Las Ramblas. The restaurant next door is one of the top gastronar in Barcelona. The hotel: small but recently refurbished etablishement. The small pool is just there to cool yourself while having... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
