This hotel was very expensive. Our family suite was more than we paid in both Madrid and Paris and was smaller. On top of it, expect the staff to be more like front desk guards than a concierge service or knowledgeable. We wanted to try a different neighborhood other than the Bari Gothic quarter for a change and they didn't... More

Ideal location ,wonderful staff. The roof terrace is ideal for relaxing at the end of the day. Good size rooms and delicious breakfast. Rooms at the back of the hotel can be noisy with all night bars close at hand, closing the doors on the balcony certainly helps but not ideal. Will definitely use it again

Great, great location on the water, especially the rooftop view. Also, VERY close for those leaving on a cruise ship. The hotel staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The ONLY knock on this property is the service at the rooftop restaurant. Practically had to request service at the onset and then had to keep motioning to... More

I stayed here for one night in July and was incredibly happy with my choice of hotel. The main selling point is it's great location (you're 10 mins walk from the beach and las Ramblas) and superb staff (nothing is too much trouble). My delux room was big, with a balcony that faced the port. It had everything I needed... More

My brother and I visited Barcelona for the third time this year, and our expectations were exceeded! Having paid around the same price two times before, this hotel gave us the most for our money, and the service was incredible. You can look forward to, a drink on arrival, with your bags delivered to your rooms, whilst you have it... More

If you get one of the luxury rooms overlooking the water, this is possibly the coolest place to wake up to in Barcelona. Walls are unfortunately paper thin. But I was so charmed by the views and the friendly reception staff that I was willing to overlook the noise.

Very pleased we chose this hotel for our first nights in Spain. The hotel's excellent location at the edge of the Bari Gotic and facing onto the marina area gives easy access to different kinds of sights a short distance away - so many things to see, places to eat and drink. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Not... More

I traveled to Barcelona in July 2015 with my husband and our 2 teen daughters. The Duquesa has the perfect room for families, with one king and two twin beds. Sure, the room is smallish, but this is Europe, not a Hampton Inn in some suburb. The staff could not have been friendlier, and even though we had not pre-ordered... More

We went for a 2 night stay and this hotel is in a great location for the port, beach and the Las Rambles. They left a bottle of cava in our room for my Husbands birthday which was a lovely touch to our stay. The roof terrace is a great place to have a drink and sunbeds provided in the... More

Being on the boundary between the port and the old city gives this hotel a great location for travellers. It is easy to get to by taxi, then on foot you have maze of streets just behind you. The staff are excellent - alway helpful and friendly. Aside from not having a single English-speaking TV channel, I cannot fault the... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
