For our first trip to Barcelona, we could not have made a better choice in terms of places to stay! Lovely hotel, great location. The hotel overlooks Port Vell, and is a moment's walk from Las Rambla, the water front shops, located in the Gothic quarter. The people at the front desk are very helpful in selecting tours, etc. Breakfast... More

We stayed 3 nights in 2 adjoining rooms. This feature is great when you have a larger family group. Everyone got their private space but we still felt together. The location near the waterfront and the gothic quarter was amazing and the rooftop bar has a beautiful view. We will stay here when we return to Barcelona. Our only comment... More

We visited 26th - 29th June. The room was nice, the hotel staff were good. The breakfast buffet was extensive - plenty of choice and good quality. However, it is the much advertised roof terrace which causes me to knock off a star. The price this hotel commands is in part because of its location and the fact that it... More

The hotel was very nice, the room was spacious, the bath clean and also spacious, the beds were comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance from the harbour, beaches, Barri Gotic and the Ramblas, so it is located quite ideally for a trip to Barcelona. The hotel features a nice roof top terrace with a great view, but a... More

We enjoyed 2 nights at this lovely hotel. Everthing was perfekt for our family of 5. Our kids and us loved it! The reception is gold, the breakfast is perfect and the staff is lovely! There is only one negative thing to say and that is that parking infront of the hotel is imposible. Many parking opertuenties near by 😄

This hotel is excellent and in an amazing location. A great base to explore the entire city, it's only a short walk to La Rambla, Port Vell and Barri Gotic as well as about a 20 minute walk to the beach via Barceloneta. The hotel staff were very helpful and we always felt completely relaxed, the views from the terrace... More

Within walking distance of the harbour, metro, beach, la rambla and the Gothic quarter makes this an ideal hotel for tourists. Staff are very friendly and speak very good English. They recommended a very nice restaurant close to the hotel in the Gothic quarter where we had a lovely authentic Catalonian meal. The roof terrace is quite large and features... More

Really excellent hotel; location is just fantastic, enabling you to explore Barri gothic, El Born, Las Ramblas and the Marina within minutes on foot. The rooms are clean and modern. The staff are friendly, helpful and happy to assist with any requirment. The roof terrace is absolutely beautiful and although the pool is indeed small, this didn't matter at all.... More

We were able to spend the last four nights of our vacation at this hotel and it did not disappoint! Upon arrival we were handed two glasses of Cava, the room was just a few minutes from being ready, but not to worry because we were able to go to the rooftop terrace and enjoy a lovely space and view.... We arrived to Hotel Duquesa de Cardona with 2 teenagers after an overnight flight from New York and were greeted with hospitality fit for a close family member. Even though our rooms were not ready in the early morning, the staff provided storage for our luggage and offered us the lounges, pool, restaurants as well as restrooms for freshening up.... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
