A clean and nice hotel in the heart of Barcelona. Located in Via Laietana, Barry Gotic,, 5 minutes walking from Plaza Catalunia, We got very nice twin room, good size, pool view ( but pool was closed.... ) In room there is mini-bar, flat screen, and iron-safe by payment, free wifi. The bathroom was OK, but no so lighted. The... More

Weekend. The hotel hosted a demonstration of collectors of fountain pens. The location is extremely convenient, just a few meters from Plaza Catalunya and the terminal for the airport. All the major monuments within walking distance. Structure comfortable, clean, helpful staff, good and plentiful breakfast. Excellent quality / price ratio. Since returning.

We just stayed here in mid-March 2015 and had a great time. We found it as part of a Go-Today package (which was great btw). The hotel is located one block from La Rambla and right in the Bari-Gothic area. The room was more spacious than most we had in Europe and the bathroom was very nice. There was a... More

The staff at this hotel are delightful. Really friendly and helpful, and though my spanish is negligable they had great patience. The room was small for a twin and the window opened to a nearby wall, however for the price I paid, it was really well equipped and nicely laid out. Breakfast was disappointing on the first morning, but that... More

We stayed 1 night at the end of a cruise. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating for our early arrival (the NCL ship last disembarkation time was 8:30 AM). The Montblanc is delightfully updated...almost an understated chic elegance...really quite nice. Our room was perfectly clean, quiet and had free and easy to use wi-fi. The morning breakfast buffet was... More

Central location of hotel was perfect. There are many things within walking distance, including the Barcelona Cathedral and Las Ramblas. You can catch any city bus in Catalunya Square, which is one block away. The hotel desk staff speaks English and is very helpful. In fact, one young lady helped us by logging onto their computer to get us reservations... More

Ideally situated, near Catalunya Square (where the airport shuttle drops off) and a few minutes from the old quarter. The hotel is comfortable and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Close to Metro too. Free wi do too. Excellent breakfast spread. The downside s ( which didn't outweigh the positive) were that the room was very warm. Despite being mid... More

2 streets over from LaRamblas, a 10 minute walk to the Gothic Quarter. Good restaurants nearby and the staff spoke English. Always a plus! Clean, bathrooms in good condition. The only thing to remember is that when traveling in Europe, 'facecloths' are not standard. We were able to check in at 11am, no problem, and stayed the night before a... More

We stayed here after a Norwegian Cruise and stayed for 3 nights. The room size was fine, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Friendly staff, free Wi-Fi and a nice buffet breakfast. Our only concern was that they had already turned off the air conditioning for the winter (we visited in late November) and the room was... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
