Ideally situated, near Catalunya Square (where the airport shuttle drops off) and a few minutes from the old quarter. The hotel is comfortable and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Close to Metro too. Free wi do too. Excellent breakfast spread. The downside s ( which didn't outweigh the positive) were that the room was very warm. Despite being mid... More

2 streets over from LaRamblas, a 10 minute walk to the Gothic Quarter. Good restaurants nearby and the staff spoke English. Always a plus! Clean, bathrooms in good condition. The only thing to remember is that when traveling in Europe, 'facecloths' are not standard. We were able to check in at 11am, no problem, and stayed the night before a... More

We stayed here after a Norwegian Cruise and stayed for 3 nights. The room size was fine, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Friendly staff, free Wi-Fi and a nice buffet breakfast. Our only concern was that they had already turned off the air conditioning for the winter (we visited in late November) and the room was... More

Stayed here through Norwegian Cruise Line ahead of my transatlantic cruise. Was not sure of this hotel prior to arrival, but was happily surprised by the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the hotel/room. I felt that the furniture was a bit minimalist, but free wi-fi and ample work space made it a great place to get some work done... More

Not very happy to be back home, my husband and I had a fab weekend here. We took a taxi from the airport I read on here it was about €20 but we paid €36! I don't like getting ripped off so wasn't very amused. We got to our room, which was on the top floor 802, it was fab,... More

I stayed at the Montblanc last month just prior to a Norwegian Cruise Line transatlantic sailing. I found the Montblanc to be completely adequate for my first visit to a wonderful, interesting city. My room was tiny but all I needed it for was sleeping so that part didn't bother me. The hotel staff was helpful in instructing me how... More

The location of the hotel was very convenient. The size of the room was very large and spacious. The street noise was extremely loud and constant throughout the night. The noise was so bad it was as if the Windows were wide open. The road noise made it impossible to sleep and totally outweighed any positives the property may have... More

first of all apologize if you do not rest well in our hotel. True to his room overlooking the main street, but we also have rooms facing the pool and are quieter, if any customer asks us what we would change room, not if you commented on the reception since we are not aware. regarding the works of the next... This was our first visit to Barcelona with our two year old and that service at Montblanc went a long way to making out stay memorable. Location is great, rooms are large, very clean and modern, staff are wonderful and breakfast was prefect.

We stayed here late October for 3 nights. The room was at the back of the hotel, It was comfortable and clean. As the weather was surprisingly hot for the time of year we wanted our window open - we managed it but it was quite a challenge to open it fully like a balcony. Our view was of a... More

This 3* hotel is in a fairly quiet street just 10 mins stroll from the Plaze de Catalunya with all its transport links and La Rambla. We were on 7th floor, with a terrace, so had hardly any noise. Staff are friendly, breakfast buffet is typical continental. All the surroundings are nice - lobby, restaurant, bar etc. The room was... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
