It's very nicely located. Rooms feature a decent size, and we were wellcomed with a chilled bottle of cava, which felt great. Amenities provided in the room are well over the expected in quantity, including slippers and bathrobe. Their quality is average. On the other side, the looks of the furniture and the room in general are underwhelming, and overall... More

If you are looking for a place close to lots of sites, this is good. The elevators are tiny and a tad on the scary side. The room was ok, nothing special. The beds were not comfortable. The air conditioner didn't work well. Breakfast was not great, the Hilton we stayed at before this hotel, had a wonderful breakfast, so... More

We spent one night at this hotel prior to joining a cruise. The hotel is located close to where the Aerobus arrives at Placa de Catalunya, and it's easy to walk to La Ramblas, the cathedral etc. The staff were efficient enough but not overly welcoming. However all requests were attended to quickly, such as request for extra pillows. The... More

Went to Barcelona with my husband on my birthday. To be honest, I really liked the room at the first look. It had a very nice balcony with artificial grass in it giving it a very romantic look. We checked in around noon and by evening i saw small insects crawling on the floor of the room. We stayed in... More

Our long weekend getaway with friends, we arrived early for checking in on 25/06/15 for 3 nights. The front desk receptions has a room ready for our friends but we have to wait for an hour for our room, we didn't mind as we got a bigger room in room 516! The room is clean but missing coffee and tea... More

We stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise in early June. Hotel location is excellent; lying near Placa de Catalunya and Les Rambles and a short taxi journey to/from the port. Our room was of a good size/standard and towards the rear of the hotel on the third floor which meant that we weren't bothered by any noise from... More

While checking in at the front desk, our laptop that was just near us was stolen. This happened under the eyes of the hotel security person (remember Manuel from Faulty's Tower- I know nothing, I'm from Barcelona? So this man was his twin brother...) and the 3 front desk people. More annoying was the attitude of the hotel manager and... More

Couldn't ask for better location. Staff helpful (especially Jessica) and friendly. Clean, comfortable. Nice area outside by the back of the hotel to chill, however swimming pool was a joke - I thought it was for children! HCC - Please use the concrete space to create a larger pool. Didn't dine there as food looked pretty basic. Pop up the... More

We upgraded to room 803, king bed, a balcony the length of the room with view of Sagrada Familia at $33/night for our 5 nights; well worth the extra. From the airport take A1 bus at $5.90 euro pp to Placa Catalunge. Walk between shopping centers until traffic light, turn right and you are 2 blocks from hotel. It is... More

This June (2015) I stayed in the HCC MONTBLANC in Barcelona. While checking in, I turned around d for a second and me (expensive) laptop was stolen. The receptionist did not even say "I am sorry" and she couldn't care less, and so did the other staff members and the managers. There was a security camera in the hotel but... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
