Family trip (husband, grown up son and elderly father) to Barcelona. Location of hotel good; few streets away from La Ramblas. Road hotel is in not the prettiest. Arrived quite late in evening and check in quick and efficient. Public areas of hotel very clean and smart looking. All our rooms, although a little small, were fine ; very clean,... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. It wasn't the greatest hotel, but it was clean, the room was quite large and we had plenty of space to store our luggage. The staff were quite helpful and provided us with informative advice on our stay. It is in a good location and we walked to many main... More

This hotel will rip you off if your not careful. When booking the hotel there was no option for breakfast so I presummed that they did not serve it. When checking in the receptionist told us where breakfast was served, what time and to just state our room number. We never had breakfast as we were not up on time... More

just back from a lovely 5 day break in Barcelona. Hotel situated just off La Rambla and rooms very clean and nice big bathroom. Hotel not the most modern, reception staff not overly friendly, but the breakfast was fine. We chose a balcony room overlooking the street, but we didnt use it to sit out on as to busy out... More

The rooms are extremely basic and do not justify the price. The overall cleanliness is good. The walls are paper thin so one can hear even footsteps outside. The staff at the reception is not at all friendly. Their standard answer for everything is 'NO' The hotel is near la Rambla which is where most of the tourists go but... More

This hotel is down a side street off the Ramblas and we were very impressed. It was excellent value, we opted not to have breakfast in the hotel. Instead we went to a bar at the end of the street and then sat in a leafy square opposite to have croissants and tea and people watch. The room was spacious... More

The hotel is a very short walk from La Rambla, but don't let this deter you! Although you are a short walk from the very heart of Barcelona it's a quiet street and we had no problems with the area! This hotel was extremely good value for money and I was very impressed. Staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely... More

This hotel is just average. It is in a great location, just a minute or two from La Rambla. Staff are accommodating but not friendly or overly helpful. Rooms are tiny, most have no view and beds are really hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom is clean, with a good shower and there was a double sink in ours. There is an... More

we stayed here 9 years ago and as it was value for money back then and in a great location decided to book it again. We stayed for 7 nights. Don't expect a smile from reception, nor a fridge for milk even though tea/coffee/kettle is provided. Nor a box of tissues. You do get good housekeeping, generous towels, great location... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
