We stayed for 3 nights, nice hotel, small and clean room, great facilities, and very welcoming staff )english speakers). The location is near the Rambla which is great, and very close to plaza Catalonia. no TV but none needed.

Thank you so much for writing your experience with us. I am very happy you liked our family hotel and that you enjoyed your stay. we have only TV in the suite rooms. The hotel is ready to have Tv in all the rooms but at this moment we think it is much better to enjoy a book, to talk,... More

This hotel may turn out much better once their new addition is available for breakfast in the mornings. Some of the bathrooms for my group had cockroaches and ants in the drainage system and needed to be cleaned out. The location of the hotel is great and close to the Ramblas.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Our breakfast room is taking longer than we thought but i hope it is ready for summer. We still have the cafe restaurant next door where we serve a nice breakfast, tapas etc... Small hotel in a great location. Very close to La Rambla and the metro. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff, who all spoke English well. The rooms are minimalist but perfectly adequate, and fair value for the price. Excellent shower and good wifi too.

I stayed in this hotel during the Mobile World Conference & was therefore pricey, but to be expected. The room we stayed in was clean, large & v.comfortable; their staff were v.friendly & the proximity to all the essentials such as The Metro, shops, restaurants and attractions was superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel although for the price an... More

We were here in sept 2014. First of all this place is hard to find. It is tucked away in the pedestrian streets and there are no signs that stick out. There is a sign above the door and on the door but it is not obvious. I walked past it a few times. The front desk people are very... More

Thank you very much for your review. You are right when you say we are a bit hidden. We are just about to finish a new decoration element on the outside door to help our guests to find us easily. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and can´t wait to see you back. Have a nice day. : ) More

We rented 2 rooms in this hotel last winter while renovations were in full swing. I was a little apprehensive about the renovations but I should not have been. Everything was great. I liked the hotel so much that little things like the hot water not working and the door locks not working right was quickly overlooked because everything else... More

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am happy to hear that even that the hotel was not finished 100% you enjoyed your stay. It is very hard to finish a work where you put so many efforts and have to go through the "leed certification" expectations. Very high ones. We are getting to the end and would like... More

Hostal Grau is in El Raval by a pedestrian corner between Les Rambles and the University — only two blocks from Plaça de Catalunya. El Raval is nowadays comfortable, bustling, and secure. My 4th-floor room looked over the street, and it was quiet, modern, immaculate, large, and comfortable: a dreamy king-sized bed and a large, hot shower. The Wi-Fi proved... More

Thank you very much for this lovely review. It took us more than a year to decide the decoration of this place and wanted to translate our sensibility to all the rooms, with this fresh air and homely chic style. Thank you for comparing our hotel with some of the expensive ones in Barcelona. have a nice day and please,... More

We loved this hotel, it was spotlessly clean and cosy, the decor was cool and the bed was amazing, so comfortable it induced many the day-time nap! The staff were lovely and friendly and the location was perfect. It's so close to the hustle and bustle but still tucked away from the noise. We will definitely be coming back here!

This hotel was perfect for our family's trip to Barcelona. It was near many of the sites we wanted to visit -- most walking distance, others an easy metro ride from either the Plaza Catalunya or Universitat stations -- and it was on a charming side street (quiet). There were nice restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as little markets.... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
