I stayed here for a weekend trip with a friend from 15 to 17 January 2016. This is a nice little hotel located just a short walk from Placa de Catalunya, the Aerobus station and meeting points for various tours. I loved the simple but modern decor, and our room was very clean. The room was a little small, but... More

Simple but beautiful decor. The service was excellent and very friendly with the room being well appointed. The location is fantastic being 2 minutes walk from plaza de Cataluna which is also where the bus service between the airport and the centre of town stops. Very convenient indeed. The area is full of little shops and buzzing. We simply walk... More

Dear Anthony, Thank you very much for finding time to evaluate us. We are very glad that our staff made you feel welcome and you liked our eco-green decor. My wife and I stayed here for three nights. It is a very nice hotel at a good price. Centrally located two blocks from La Rambla and three blocks from Plaza Catalunya. We were able to walk everywhere. The hotel has coffee on the first floor in the morning, but no breakfast or restaurant. There is breakfast next door and... More

We had a great time in Barcelona, and Hostal Grau was key to it. As others have mentioned, the hotel is well-located - you can walk to most everything. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. A wonderful retreat after a day of sightseeing! The staff are welcoming and helpful. We liked the "earth-friendly" philosophy. All in all, we would... More

This was a great little hotel in a superb location with a strange, but comfortable room. Our room consisted of 2 large rooms and a hallway. This hotel deserves more than two stars. Staff are lovely, location is amazing. We were in a family room, which was very simple and a touch dated but extremely clean and very big. Very good value for money. We had a two lovely balconies and black out blinds which were excellent.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
