I stayed here three nights at the recommendation of a local friend, who booked it for me. My single room was tiny, but quiet and spotless. The bed was made and clean towels appeared daily. The communal bathroom was also very well maintained. The hostal is secure and conveniently located near the train station where you can get the Aerobus... More

Hostal Sofia This is not the ordinary students or backpackers hostel. This is more of a well located hostel for travelers who need the closeness to the train station and the metro in Barcelona. I stayed in this hostel for 6 nights, I traveled with my wife and baby. Also my parents came along and stayed at this hostel too.... More

Hi all... A friend made bookings for me for this hotel/hostal. Summer being typically busy for Barcelona and given a budget, I was left with not much choice. Initially I was rather apprehensive because I have heard horror stories about bedbugs and other creepy crawlies lurking in Pensions/Hostals. But boy was I surprised! The rooms are decent sized and even... More

I was stuck in Barcelona overnight and I needed to find something fast and near the train station. This place is a gem. Very clean and good size rooms. I stayed in a single on the second flr of the Pension. It was equipped with a sink and a fan (a necessity in the summer nights). It also had a... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
