My partner and I spent a lovely week in Barcelona thanks to this exquisite, inexpensive and very hospitable hotel as our "base". The owners and staff are absolutely charming and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and cleaned every day (beds made, showers cleaned, etc.). Despite the location in the centre of the city we slept extremely well at nights throughout... More

Dear Gert, I want to personally thank you for your excellent comments about our hotel. I am very proud to hear that your stay with us was so great, I felt flattered when I read your headline “A "home away from home" in Barcelona”. I am very glad that we have been this useful on your visit to Barcelona and... More

My husband and I travelled to Barcelona in Aug 2012. We had almost a week stay there. The location of the hostel is perfect, easy access to everywhere, say, La Rambla, Museums, Shopping area, metro station. There is a starbucks coffee and another local fast food chain down the building. Reception is very friendly, and helpful, She gave us all... More

We, wife, I, daugher & husband and our 2 grandkids stayed for a total of 3 nights. 1 before and 2 after our cruise. The reception staff where excellent in being helpfull and advice. Appartment was nice. Had a few minor problems that was sorted after reporting reception. Location very good if staying in Barcelona for some site seeing. Only... More

Having stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed the experience, so we decided to stay again. Wrong choice. We were put in an extremely dark room, with one window into the main centre air duct which we could not leave open. Not ok if you like a bit of natural light, or like to have an open window at... Located near Plaza Catalunya, the hostal Goya was a perfect stay for someone looking at cozy and clean hotel at inexpensive price. The room is spacious, although there is no tv and fridge but you can use the facilities in the lobby. And the staffs are super helpful. The room is new and clean. Wifi is strong.

Stayed for four nights in July 2014. Very friendly and efficient booking and check in (the doorway isn't easy to find on the street though - see photo). The room was clean and quite spacious for the price in Barcelona - we paid a little more to have small sitting area. The front desk staff were always very helpful with... More

Excellent location, small but clean, nice rooms. It is a cluster of small rooms with a central eating area with a TV, sitting area, and computer shared in our case between about 6 rooms. The entrance from the street is off putting and after getting buzzed in by reception (which is manned 24x7), you have go up a flight of... More

We stayed five nights at hostal goya. The hostal was quiet when we where there in July 2012. The rooms beside ours seemed vacant, that might explain it. Overall We found it was a good rapport quality/price. We choose the hotel for its location, near the train station and the subway. I recommend it, it was clean and quiet, the... More

Goya Hostal located in Urquinaona (I know its a mouth full) is one of the most strategic hotels in Barcelona. We walked to most parts of Barcelona. It is close to eateries, cafes, museums, shopping, and most importantly, public transport both MRT (Urquinaona station) and airport bus. It is kind of a casual hotel. After checking in, we do not... This reservation was very clean and tidy, the reception was very helpful and they have room service every day if requested. It was quiet and had a common room with tea and coffee. It was so close to everything.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
