I stayed for one night at Hostal Levante and I was very disappointed with the experience. I stayed in a double accommodation (two single beds). The room was dingy and not well lit, as well as small and cramped. The staff were not very friendly, and when I was checking out the person at the concierge desk tried to charge... More

Terrible beyond words. The only good point is that this place is cheap. However, not value friendly. Located in the central of Barcelona, this hostel is extremely noisy past midnight. It is impossible to avoid noises of rubbish truck and drunkards. Rooms are very small, sheets are awfully unpleasant. Washroom space is extremely limited, water changes from hot to cold... More

Nothing fancy here, but the hotel is well run, rooms basic but comfortable, some smaller or noisier than others so there's a bit of the luck of the draw about it, but the location is great and it's clean and safe.

Know what you are buying if you reserve a room in this hostel where all rooms are 60 euro. The location is excellent -- in the Gothic Quarter just off of Plaza San Miguel and near the Plaza Real. The street is very narrow so your taxi may leave you in Plaza San Miguel and you walk the rest of... More

The staff at the reception desk is friendly and helpful, I asked them to help me with booking tickets which turned out to be quite complicated . They helped a lot. The hostel is perfectly located and climatic.

Rooms are new and clean, location is great. For this price, it's better than what you can find around near the gothic quarter. No AC, noisy neighbourhood, but that's the catch of staying on the very center of Barcelona. I recommend it.

Well located and close to Metro and La Rumbla, plenty to see and do around this area Was on the second floor with a small slow lift Rooms varied in size. We had a twin with window facing the street other did not. Room was compact and the bathroom was very compact. Room was clean but the bathroom was a... More

We spent two nights here as part of a tour group. Our room was tiny and there is no air conditioning so it was terribly hot. There was a door you could open to let air in but we were worried about leaving it open in case of intruders. The bathroom was mouldy, tiny and the shower nozzle was hand... More

Great location (right in the heart of the Gothic District), clean and spacious, the windows of this hostel are tissue thin and block none of the street noise. Be prepared to use earplugs if you are a light to medium sleeper.

Well located but thats about all. There was a stuff up and we had to move rooms daily as the room was booked for the second day. We had to leave our luggage at reception not locked up in a baggage room because of this. We could not settle because of all the changes and it spoilt our stay in... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
