I come to Barcelona quite often because of work (within a year I stayed in this hotel about 15 times). I love it and would not change it for anything else. It is close to the main train station Barcelona Sants and metro stop, from which you get in 10 minutes to the "turistic" part of the city. In the... More

This was the last stop on our intrepid tour and would have to say it was very underwhelming. I had to stay an extra night so I booked a room to myself. The room wasn't even on a proper floor and when I got to the room it was like a shoebox. Very very small and could hardly fit my... More

Quite a nice hotel within walking distance to Barcelona 's 'Sants Estacio' metro/train station. And only a few minutes by metro to Plaza Catalunya.Rooms are clean and comfortable. Lovely fresh buffet breakfast, pool ,friendly staff and reasonable price. Choice of hotel with Intrepid tours(I had finished off with my tour)so can be quite busy. The pool deck has lovely views of... Pros: - Great pool area, very relaxing with great music and power points. - Fantastic breakfast, the best one of my whole Europe trip. So much choice and all very fresh. - Friendly staff. - Really fast Wifi. You need to use the Metro to get to Las Ramblas and other tourist areas. I found the metro to be frequent,... More

The room was nice, it was a big comfy bed with a good sized bathroom. The room was very quiet and had air conditioning in it. The hotel itself has a small pool, good for sitting and relaxing in as it's not big enough for actual swimming. Also go in the earlier as the pool is in the shade from... More

Having booked Hotel Catalonia Plaza and being informed that the room was no longer available, we were taxied here. Not the most attractive neighbourhood, so cautious about it. No need to be, as we were upgraded to the Junior Suite, very spacious and well furnished. Receptionist very helpful too. Breakfast fine. Good value for money.

We stayed here for 2 nights and found it be clean and confortable. The room we had was basically internal and probably not the best. However, the staff were extremely helpful when we had problems with our airport transfer. It is a bit out of the center but quite close to the metro with only a few stops to the... More

I stayed at this hotel on a recent holiday in Spain and would not recommend it. The staff were unhelpful, particularly if you had a problem or needed something like a new towel (the answer was no). Our group had a problem when the hotel tried to pass off two single beds side by side as twin share (there was... More

The rooms are nice enough & they have a good breakfast. However the location is not the best, as a solo traveller, it felt a little unsafe to walk back to at nighttime. Also I found the staff to be fairly unhelpful with requests and if you ask them a question they just said "i dont know" or "no" without... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
