Was not sure what to expect so was very surprised. I walked every where. Room was small but had a nice bathroom. The neighborhood was great. The bus from the airport is only 3 blocks away ad 10 euro return metro nearby as well.

Hostal Oliva is an absolute gem. I booked this hostal based on reviews from Trip Advisor and it was an extremely wise decision. From the moment I stepped off the Aerobus at Placa de Catalunya and realized that I was only a 5 minute walk away, I knew that the location would be superb. When I was buzzed into the... More

I’m currently living in Bangkok for work reasons, but I spent a week in Barcelona where I have many friends, since I lived there for 3 years. I know pretty well the city, so I was looking for a nice place to rest, well connected and interesting price. I completely found that place: Hostal Oliva. It was like getting back... More

What a wonderful find. Myself and 3 friends spent 3 nights at the Hostal Oliva last month while seeing the sights of Barcelona. The hotel is situated right in the centre and only cost 135 euros for 3 nights. You couldn't do that in central London. The rooms were clean and the bathroom had everything you needed including a bidet.... More

4 of us stayed at this delightful hotel for 3 nights while seeing the sights of Barcelona. Not only was is perfectly situated in the centre, very near Las Ramblas but it was such good value. 135 euros for 3 nights. You couldn't do that in Central London. It has probably the most beautiful lift I have ever been in,... More

I had a double room which was very comfortable for a single person. It would have been crowded for a couple but still adequate. The room and bath were clean. The bed firm but comfortable. The shower great. And I had a small patio for fresh air to come into the room not really to sit at as you couldn't... More

Thank you for your opinion. We are glad you enjoyed Hostal Oliva. Related to your opinion, we understand that since we can't accept payment by credit card, the other methods are not as easy as someone would like to find nowadays. We are a small Hostal, and bank charges us too much for that. We are redesigning some things of... More

A 6 nights stay, beginning September 2013. The only ** down town with rooms available: 1st Night in Room 11, newly redecorated: we couldn't sleep all night ( original old windows, noise from busy street and morning works in building opposite). Following 5 nights in Room 9: inside noise from telephone at reception and the door bell. To be let... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hostal Oliva. The room was simple, but very clean and we had a very friendly welcome each morning/evening. The 1930's wooden lift to the hostal (4th floor) was a characterful part of the experience and the location of the hostal was excellent for exploring the city. Not the place if you plan to spend... Thank you for your opinion. Barcelona is a great city, but since tourism is so important, many small Hotels and Hostals are disappearing. Our experience, our location and our staff make... More

I'm a bit reluctant to praise this location too highly in case it gets too popular! The hostal is ideally located a couple of blocks above the Placa de Catalunya in the heart of Barcelona. It comprises a number of rooms on the fourth floor of a typical grand building which is reached by a beautifully kept classic lift. Rooms... More

I stayed at this hostel for one night in August 2013. The location is fantastic - it is located in a neighborhood of upscale shops, pedestrian malls, and plenty of places to eat.
