It's a very nice, clean, quiet and safe hostel!!! The location is perfect and close to all the attractions of Barcelina. You can't find something in this price at the center of Barcelona !!! We chose to stay for a week at a double private room with private bathroom and we fell like we stayed at a hotel not a... More

Travel weary after 2 weeks moving around the Costa Brava, our last night was spent at this little gem. Modernista architect Gaudi has buildings nearby, also plenty of cafes. Airport transport, taxi rank and Metro all very close. English was spoken by a housemaid, while the friendly lady owner had none. A little bit like stepping back in time, esp.... More

Hostal Oliva is located in a stunning modernist building in the chic and salubrious area of L'Eixample. I absolutely loved the location. Passeig de Gracia is a mix of high end designer fashion and high st chains while trendy boutique shops line the off streets. In the midst of this are cute cafes, gourmet restaurants, small art galleries and much... More

Hostal Oliva is a great stay right in the heart of Barcelona on Passeig de Gracia. Well-priced, clean and warm and quiet! Access is via a panelled/glass elevator for two, or three at a pinch, and you have to press the buzzer so Signora knows to release the lock.

Located just blocks from Las Ramblas and Placa de Catalunya, this gem is affordable, clean, safe and modern. You are buzzed in by the 24 hour staff at the street level, let into the fourth floor and given your key. No breakfast included but many good places nearby. Also, we ate at three very good tapas places within a couple... More

We flew in from Vancouver having a booking at Hostal Oliva. It was very clean and the decorations were very well done. The hosts were very informative on the city on what things we can do and see. The building itself was in the centre of the city with amazing architecture. Highly recommend this!

Having never been to Barcelona before, I was a bit concerned about an affordable hotel in city center being a safe risk. But Hostal Oliva was the best! What an amazing surprise to pass Tiffany's and Armani's on the way there and then approach the lovely brass and wooden doors to a marble entryway with the coolest old elevator ever... More

We stayed in Barcelona for two days as a part of a family vacation. We stayed at Hostal Oliva which is a very simple and centrally located place. Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
