We stayed in Barcelona for Easter weekend and Hostal Ramos offered perfect location for exploring the city (and good wifi connection!). Among downsides — bed is a bit short, bathroom didn't close properly, and we had to give the key back to reception every time we went out. But still, it was really good value for money,

Choose this hotel for the location and I did not regret it. Even though is quite old it is clean. The price is quite good at least for this time of the year. The guy at the Reception was more than helpful on suggestions and very polite. (Sorry that I don't remember ur name my friend). Very good place.

Ideally located just off La Ramblas, but in a rather seedy area. It was directly opposite a square renowned for "prostitutes and thieves" according to a local, and although we had no trouble from them, it was extremely noisy throughout the night. Once this had been overcome, the road was being dug up outside, and the noise of roadworks started... More

Very happy with this choice of hostal, close to the hub of Las Ramblas but far enough away to be quiet & relaxed. Square across the road good for people watching (although service in bar on the corner is slow beyond belief........!!!). Comfortable beds, very clean room, spacious bathroom was a bonus, polite & efficient 24hr staff. Would definitely stay... More

Great location - near la Rambla, good cafeteria next to the hostel for breakfast, just around the corner is market Boguadie. Small rooms, our view was to the wall, you can hear everything from the corridor and when someone flushes the toilet

This hostal is a very pleasant and affordable venue, considering the location in central Barcelona. It is located in a building amongst private appartments. The building has an interior court and is very quiet. Our room was nice and very clean. Same for the ensuite bathroom (bathtub and good shower). The access to the hotel is not obvious: you need... The Hostal R Ramos is very conveniently located a block from Las Ramblas, walking distance to the sea and Placa Catalunya, relatively well priced. Simple accommodation with no breakfast, but all the basics. Not advised if noise prevents you from sleeping as Spaniards apparently stay up all night. We heard all the chatter of the crowd in the square across... More

as a lone traveller, it was nice to have nice friendly staff to greet and help you, the room itself was a bit small, but reasonably adequate. the only problem was the smell from the sewers, and night time noise from other guests. outside noise, you have to get used to, as you are in a major tourist area. take... Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
