Two friends and I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was cleaned everyday and had the basics that you needed. This hostel is centrally located and is perfect for going out. It's also close to the metro (10-20metres) which saves a lot of money on taxis etc. Eugene at reception was amazing!!!

You get what you pay for, room relatively clean though there were some odd looking handprints on the wall above the bed. The strangest and most disconcerting thing was that the receptionists require you to leave your key at the desk when you leave the hostel to go do stuff, and then you might request it later from a completely... Me and some friends stayed there for a few nights during an interrail back in 2010. We had an amazing stay, it's a really good location and I still look back at the memories from back then. The staff where great, safe area and near a lot of cool places to party. It's 10 meter from la rambla so it's... More

The best thing about this hostel is the location. It was in the heart of las ramblas and a two minute walk from the local market, metro station, convenience store, and many restaurants/ bars. We booked a private double room which was very small but had everything you needed. The hostel seemed old but well maintained so it wasn't really... More

This hostel is just off Les Rambles, a very popular and beautifully treed avenue. It is right in the heart of things, so it can be noisy on a Saturday night. Les Rambles is the go-to restaurant, market and souvenir zone. There's a ho-hum bar below the hotel (with interesting saxophones adorning the walls). The rooms are small. Air conditioning... More

I like this place because it is in the center of town and it was not expensive. It is very near the Rambla and old town, so walking was not so much. I like that there are aircondilation machines in the rooms, but I don´t like that the machine drop water in the flooor, maybe it was only short term... More

If you are looking for a cheap(ish) place to stay close to all the amenities then this is a good shout. As you walk out, a few metres on your left is La Rambla where you can get pretty much anywhere and if you turn right from the hotel and walk for a few minutes you'll come to the Barcelona Cathedral,... I stayed at this hostel 4 nights. Plus: perfect location and very helpful staff Minus: it is unbelievable loud The location of the hostel is perfect. Directly on Ramblas, you have underground station next to and many restaurants and cafes and lovely Mercat de la Boqueria where you can good meal. But that's all on the positive site. The hostel... Our room and shared bathrooms were clean. The sink in the room smelled very bad and we had to keep the window open 24/7. Easy to get here by train and metro. There are no elevators so walking to the fourth or fifth floor can be tough. A good location if you want to be close to attractions, La Boqueria,... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
